The Top 10 CIAC Baseball Teams

The top 10 CIAC baseball teams are selected by a panel of coaches at the end of the regular season

Amity Spartans

The Amity Spartans are a Division I baseball team in the state of Connecticut. They are a part of the Southern Connecticut Conference. The Spartans have won four conference titles and one state championship in their history.

Avon Falcons

1. The Avon Falcons are a charter member of the CIAC and have been one of the most successful teams in the state, winning 19 State Championships

2. The Falcons have been league champions 28 times and have made 33 appearances in the State Tournament

3. The team has produced a number of Major League Baseball players, including Hall of Famer Calvin Griffith.

4. The Falcons play their home games at Falcon Field, which is located on West Main Street in Avon.

5. The team is currently coached by Dan Giglio, who has been at the helm since 2006.

Berlin Redcoats

The Berlin Redcoats are a high school baseball team located in Berlin, Connecticut, United States The Redcoats compete in the Central Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CCIAC) and are members of the South-West Conference

Branford Hornets

The Branford Hornets Baseball Team is one of the top 10 teams in the CIAC. The team is made up of 17 players, all of whom contribute to the team’s success. The Hornets have an outstanding record of 15-3 and are currently ranked sixth in the CIAC.

Cheshire Rams

The Cheshire Rams are one of the top 10 CIAC baseball teams in the state of Connecticut. The Rams have a rich history dating back to the early 1900s, when they were founded as a semi-professional team. Since then, the Rams have won multiple state championships and have produced several Major League Baseball players.

Darien Blue Wave

The Darien Blue Wave is a baseball team that competes in the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference The team is made up of players who attend Darien High School in Darien, Connecticut. The Blue Wave have won nine CIAC State Championships most recently in 2019. The team is coached by Kevin Connery and plays its home games at the school’s stadium, which is also named after the team.

East Haven Yellowjackets

The East Haven Yellowjackets are one of the top 10 CIAC Baseball Teams They are led by their captain, Joe Torre The Yellowjackets have a strong team and are looking to make a run in the playoffs.

Fairfield Prep Jesuits

The Fairfield Prep Jesuits are a Division I baseball team in the CIAC. They are located in Fairfield, Connecticut and play their home games at Alumni Field. They are currently coached by Rey Harrell.

The Jesuits have won 17 CIAC State Championships the most of any school in Connecticut. They have also won 7 New England Championships, the most of any school in Connecticut.

The team has produced many Major League baseball players including Jeff Bagwell Craig Breslow, and Anthony Rizzo

Greenwich Cardinals

Greenwich Cardinals are the top team in the CIAC Baseball Rankings They have a record of 18-0 and have outscored their opponents by a margin of 7-2. They are led by senior captain Johnathon Scolnick, who is batting .500 with four home runs and 22 RBIs.

Hand Tigers

The Hamden Tigers are a high school baseball team located in Hamden, Connecticut. The Tigers are a member of the Southern Connecticut Conference, which is made up of 14 teams from around the state. The Tigers have won 3 conference championships in their history, most recently in 2019. They have also made the CIAC tournament 8 times, most recently in 2019.
