The best college baseball logos and names: the top 5

There are a lot of college baseball teams out there, and each one has its own unique logo and name. But which ones are the best? Here are our top 5 picks for the best college baseball logos and names:

1. The University of Texas Longhorns have a simple but elegant logo that features a Lone Star inside a white circle. The team name is also powerful and evocative, conjuring up images of the American west.

2. Louisiana State University’s Tigers have a fierce and regal logo that features a snarling tiger’s head set against a purple background. The team name is also one of the most feared in all of college baseball

3. The University of Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish have a classic logo that features a shamrock inside a circle. The team name is also synonymous with excellence in college athletics.

4. Stanford University’s Cardinal has a simple but distinctive logo that features a redbird set against a white background. The team name is also unique and representative of the school’s colors.

5. UCLA’s Bruins have a fierce and iconic Bear logo that is instantly recognizable. The team name is also one of the most storied in all of college athletics.

The best college baseball logos and names: the bottom 5

In no particular order, here are the bottom 5 College Baseball logos and names.

5. St. John’s Red Storm
– The “Red Storm” name is unimaginative and dull.
– The logo is a basic wordmark with a Wing Baseball added in for good measure. It’s not terrible, but it’s not particularly good either.

4. UC Santa Barbara Gauchos
– Gauchos are South American cowboys, so this name makes sense for a school in California. However, it just doesn’t quite fit in with the rest of college baseball
– The logo is a cartoonish gaucho riding a baseball bat It’s not terrible, but it would be better if the gaucho looked more menacing.

3. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers
– The Chanticleer is a mythical rooster from medieval literature. It’s an interesting name for a Sports Team but it doesn’t really fit in with the rest of college baseball
– The logo is a rooster standing on a baseball diamond It’s not terrible, but it would be better if the rooster looked more like a Chanticleer (i.e., more like a mythological creature).

2. Old Dominion Monarchs
– The Monarch butterfly is an interesting choice for a sports team name, but it doesn’t really fit in with the rest of college baseball
– The logo is a cartoonish monarch butterfly flying over a baseball diamond It’s not terrible, but it would be better if the butterfly looked more realistic.

1. Rutgers Scarlet Knights
– The Scarlet Knight is Rutgers’ mascot and it’s an interesting choice for a sports team name. However, “Scarlet Knights” is just too long and unwieldy for a college baseball team name. Additionally, “Scarlet” isn’t really a color that one associates with baseball (white, gray, and black are much more common). Furthermore, there are already two other teams named “Knights” in College Baseball (UCF and Stetson). So this just feels like too much of a stretch. -The logo is a scarlet R with crossed swords behind it . . . which makes sense given the team name . . . but it looks more like something you would find on crest or shield than on a baseball jersey . . . which is where logos are supposed to go!

The best College Baseball logos and names: the worst 5

There are a lot of great college baseball logos and names out there. But, alas, there are also a few that miss the mark. Here, in no particular order, are the 5 worst college baseball logos and names:

5) Appalachian State Mountaineers
The Mountaineers’ logo is confusing, unattractive, and dated. The name is also uninspired and includes a word that few people actually use in conversation.

4) Bethune-Cookman Wildcats
This logo looks more like a High School team’s than a Division I team’s. And while “wildcats” is a decent enough name, it’s not particularly creative or original.

3) Eastern Kentucky Colonels
There’s nothing wrong with being a colonel… but it doesn’t make for a very good Baseball Logo or team name. The logo is also oddly shaped and fails to capture the attention of viewers.

2) Grambling State Tigers
Grambling State’s logo is one of the most generic in all of college baseball And while “tigers” is a good enough name for a team, it’s not particularly unique or memorable.

1) IUPUI Jaguars
Jaguars are not native to North America which makes this team name and logo somewhat perplexing. Moreover, the logo itself is rather unattractive and insignificant-looking.

The best college baseball logos and names: the best of the rest

There are a lot of great College Baseball programs out there, and each one has its own unique identity. While some schools have iconic logos and names that are instantly recognizable, others are a little more under the radar.

In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the best college baseball logos and names that don’t quite get the same level of attention as the big names. From traditional designs to modern updates, these are the programs that have nailed their visual identity.

Logos
When it comes to college baseball logos, there are a few things that stand out. Traditional designs tend to feature a school’s mascot or initials, while more modern updates might include elements related to the local area or the team’s history.

Some of our college baseball logos come from programs that have embraced their tradition while also updating their look for the modern ERA The LSU Tigers’ logo is a perfect example of this, as it features both a classic design and a modern twist. The same can be said for the Cal State Fullerton Titans’ logo, which combines an angry titan with a sleek wordmark.

Names
Just like with logos, college Baseball Team names can range from traditional to modern. Some schools opt for simple monikers like “Tigers” or “Eagles,” while others go for something more unique like “Ospreys” or “Dirtbags.”

There are also a few schools that have changed their team name in recent years in order to better reflect their region or history. UC Santa Barbara for example, changed its team name from the “Gauchos” to the “Bucs” in 2015 after adopting a new pirate-themed identity. And Stony Brook University made headlines in 2016 when it announced that its team would now be known as the “Seawolves.”

So what do you think? These are just a few of our favorite college baseball logos and names. Which ones are your favorites?

The best college baseball logos and names: the worst of the rest

There are plenty of great college baseball logos and names out there. But for every Vanderbilt Commodores or Florida Gators there’s a South Dakota State Jackrabbits or UTSA Roadrunners Here’s a look at some of the worst college baseball logos and names, according to baseball fans

UTSA Roadrunners: The name is bland and the logo is uninspired. Plus, it’s just a roadrunner, not even a beaver or some other more aggressive animal.

South Dakota State Jackrabbits This one is just too silly. A jackrabbit isn’t even a real rabbit, it’s a hare. And the name just conjures up images of Elmer Fudd chasing Bugs Bunny around.

California Golden Bears The name is fine, but the logo is just a bear with a weird gold triangle behind it. Not very inspired.

Clemson Tigers: The Clemson Tigers logo is just a tiger resting its paw on a football. It’s not even sniffing it or anything, just resting its paw on it. Kind of lazy if you ask me.

Texas A&M Aggies: The name is fine, but the logo is just an aggie with a star on its head. Again, not very inspired.
