Introduction

In the world of college basketball there are a few elite programs that everyone knows about. These programs are typically the ones that make it to the NCAA tournament year after year and have a tradition of winning. Combine Academy is one of those programs.

Since its inception in 2006, Combine Academy has established itself as one of the Premier Basketball schools in the country. Located in Dunn, North Carolina Combine Academy is a boarding school that attracts top High School basketball players from all over the world.

The school has produced numerous Division I college players and several professional players, including NBA All-Star Kemba Walker

If you’re not familiar with Combine Academy, here’s a quick rundown of the school’s Basketball Program and some of its notable alumni.

History

Basketball is a sport that has been around for many years. The game was first invented in 1891 by Dr. James Naismith Since then, the sport has grown in popularity and is now one of the most popular sports in the world.

Basketball is played by two teams of five players each. The objective of the game is to score points by shooting a ball through a hoop or basket. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

There are many different levels of basketball, from professional to amateur, and each level has its own rules and regulations. Professional Basketball is governed by the National Basketball Association (NBA). The NBA is made up of 30 teams, 29 from the United States and 1 from Canada.

The Combine Academy basketball team is one of those 29 teams in the NBA. The team was founded in 1966 and has been playing basketball ever since. The team’s home court is located in Charlotte, North Carolina

The Combine Academy Basketball team has a rich history full of success. The team has won multiple championships, including two NBA championships (1977 and 2001). The team has also produced many Great players such as Michael Jordan who is widely considered to be the greatest player of all time.

Academics

Academics are important at Combine Academy! We take a holistic approach to education, preparing our students for success in college and beyond. Our rigorous curriculum is designed to challenge and engage our students, and our experienced and dedicated faculty are committed to helping each student reach his or her potential.

We are proud of our academic achievements and the accomplishments of our students. Our basketball team is no exception! Our student-athletes excel in the classroom as well as on the court, and we are proud to have them represent Combine Academy.

Basketball

As the Combine Academy Trojans head into the season, fans are eager to know more about the team. Here’s a quick guide to get you familiar with the roster.

Coach Larry Brown will look to lead the Trojans to a successful season with the help of senior leaders such as Jamal Murray, Cheick Diallo, and Malik Newman

Murray, a highly touted prospect, is expected to be one of the best players in the country. The 6’4″ guard from Canada is a dynamic scorer who can shoot from anywhere on the court. He’s also an excellent passer and should be able to create opportunities for his teammates.

Diallo, a 6’9″ forward from Mali, is one of the most athletic players on the team. He’s an aggressive rebounder and shot-blocker who has improved his offensive game in recent years He’ll be counted on to provide defense and rebounding while also scoring around the basket.

Newman, another 6’4″ guard, is one of the most pure shooters on the team. He’s expected to be one of the Trojans’ leading scorers this season and will also be tasked with running the offense at times. He’s quick and athletic and should be able to create his own shot when necessary.

News

As the new school year begins, so does the new season of Combine Academy Basketball Who are the returning players? Who are the newcombers? Get to know the team with this brief bio on each player!

Darius Morris, returning for his senior year, is a 6’4″ point guard from Los Angeles California. He originally committed to playing for the University of Michigan before being drafted in the second round of the 2011 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers He went on to play for a number of NBA and G League teams before finding a home at Combine Academy.

Willie Warren, also returning for his senior year, is a 6’4″ shooting guard from Dallas, Texas. He originally committed to playing for Oklahoma University before declaring for the NBA Draft after his sophomore year. He was drafted in the first round by the Los Angeles Clippers but never found his footing in the league and spent time in both the G League and abroad before joining Combine Academy.

De’Andre Hunter, a junior at Combine Academy, is a 6’7″ small forward from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has already verbally committed to playing for Virginia University next year and is widely considered one of the top high school prospects in the country. He transferred to Combine Academy from Friends Central School prior to this season.

Justin Robinson, another junior on the team, is a 5’9″ point guard from Ashburn, Virginia. He played his freshman and sophomore years at George Mason University before transferring to Combine Academy prior to this season. He has not yet decided where he will play next year but he is being recruited by several Division I schools.

The team also has two new players this season:
EJ Montgomery, a 6’10” center from Marietta, Georgia who was ranked as one of the top high school prospects in the country prior to committing to play for Vanderbilt University next year; and
PJ Washington, a 6’8″ power forward from Dallas, Texas who originally committed to play for Kentucky before declaring for the 2019 NBA Draft where he is projected to be a lottery pick.
