While the CSUB Baseball team may not have had the best record in recent years they are a team on the rise. Under the leadership of head coach Bill Kernen, the team has made great strides in improving their play.

Coach Kernen took over the program in 2014 and inherited a team that had only won nine games the previous season. In his first year at the helm, CSUB won 21 games – more than doubling their win total from the year before. The team continued to improve in his second season, winning 30 games and qualifying for the Mountain West conference tournament for the first time in program history.

CSUB has continued to build on their success under Coach Kernen, winning 32 games last season and earning their first ever berth in the NCAA tournament The Roadrunners’ run came to an end in the Regional semifinals, but with much of their core roster returning, CSUB is poised for another Successful Season in 2018.
