2019 season outlook

The East Carolina baseball team has released their schedule for the 2019 season. The Pirates will open their season on February 15th against the University of Connecticut The team will play a total of 56 games, 28 of which will be at home in Greenville, North Carolina

ECU’s conference opponents this season include Houston, Tulane, USF, UCF, Cincinnati, Memphis, Wichita State and Temple. The Pirates will also face non-conference opponents such as Duke, UNC Wilmington N.C. State, Appalachian State and UNC Greensboro.

ECU finished the 2018 season with a record of 27-28 (12-12 in conference play). The team looks to improve upon that record in 2019 and make a run at the conference title

The East Carolina Baseball Team has been ranked in multiple pre-season polls ahead of the 2020 season.

ECU is ranked as high as No. 18 in the country by D1Baseball, while also appearing in the top 25 of the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper preseason poll at No. 23.

The Pirates are coming off a 2019 campaign that saw them go 45-19 overall and 22-8 in American Athletic Conference play. ECU finished the year ranked No. 15 in the country by D1Baseball and No. 19 by Baseball America

Away games

The East Carolina baseball team has announced its schedule for the upcoming season The team will open the season with a three-game series at home against Hofstra on February 14-16. They will then travel to Greenville, North Carolina to take on East Tennessee State in a three-game series on February 21-23.

The Pirates will have their first chance to earn some conference wins when they travel to Norfolk, Virginia, to take on Old Dominion in a three-game set on March 7-9. They will then return home to host William & Mary in a three-game series on March 14-16.

East Carolina will close out the month of March with a five-game road trip They will take on Duke in Durham, North Carolina for a three-game set on March 28-30 before traveling to Blacksburg, Virginia, for a two-game midweek series against Virginia Tech on April 2 & 3.
