The Eau Claire Memorial Varsity Basketball team has had an amazing season so far, with a record of 12-2. They have worked hard to achieve this level of success and show no signs of slowing down.
One of the Key Players on the team is point guard Brady Olson, who leads the team in scoring with an average of 17 points per game Brady is a senior and has been playing basketball for Eau Claire Memorial since his freshman year. He has been a vital part of the team’s success over the past four years and will be missed when he graduates this spring.
Another key player on the team is center Nate Johnson, who is averaging a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds per game Nate is a junior and has been playing basketball for Eau Claire Memorial since his freshman year. He has been working hard to improve his game and it is paying off.
The Eau Claire Memorial varsity Basketball team has had a great season so far and looks to continue their success in the postseason.
Eau Claire Memorial Basketball Defeats Opponents
The Eau Claire Memorial boys basketball team defeated their opponents by a score of 84-74. This is the first time in three years that the team has won by such a margin.
Eau Claire Memorial Basketball Defeats Opponents in Conference Play
The Eau Claire Memorial varsity Basketball team won both of their conference games this past weekend, defeating Menomonie on Friday Night and Hudson on Saturday.
In the Friday night game, the Memorial team got off to a slow start, but they were able to pick up the pace in the second half and ultimately came out victorious with a score of 52-45. On Saturday, they faced off against Hudson, who they had lost to earlier in the season. This time, however, the Memorial team was able to defeat their opponents handily with a final score of 68-54.
The wins bring the Memorial team’s record to 12-5 overall and 5-3 in conference play They will next take on Rice Lake on Friday night at home.
Eau Claire Memorial Basketball Defeats opponents in Non-Conference Play
The Eau Claire Memorial varsity basketball team won both of their games this past weekend in non-conference play On Friday, they defeated Menomonie 60-52 and on Saturday they beat Wausau West 74-66. With the wins, the Old Abes improve to 2-0 on the season.
Against Menomonie, Memorial was led by senior guard Zach Hanson with 18 points. Junior center Ben Kaftan chipped in 11 points and junior forward Matt Anderson added 10. The Old Abes jumped out to a 30-18 lead at halftime and cruised to the victory from there.
In the game against Wausau West, junior guard Bryce Johnson led the way with 19 points. Hanson added 17 and senior forward Tanner Olson had 16. Memorial trailed 32-30 at halftime but outscored the Warriors 44-34 in the second half to earn the win.
The Old Abes will be back in action this Friday when they take on Eau Claire North in their opening game of conference play.

Eau Claire Memorial High School’s boys Basketball team defeated their opponents in overtime with a final score of 56-55. This is their first victory in the conference this season and ups their record to 4-5.
Eau Claire Memorial Basketball Defeats Opponents in the Playoffs
The Eau Claire Memorial varsity Basketball team won their first game in the playoffs against Stevens Point on March 3rd. The final score was Memorial 61, Stevens Point 54.
This is an impressive victory, as Stevens Point is a strong team in the conference. Eau Claire Memorial’s defense was key in this win, with holding Stevens Point to 54 points. This is the first time that Eau Claire Memorial has won in the playoffs since 2015.
