Ecu Basketball Roster: Meet the Team
The ECU basketball team is gearing up for another season and we wanted to introduce you to the roster. Get to know the players that make up the squad and see what they bring to the table.
Introduction
ECU basketball is a collegiate sport that has been around since the early 1900s. The sport has seen ups and downs throughout the years, but the team has always had a dedicated following. Ecu basketball is unique in that it is one of the few collegiate sports that does not have a defined season. The team typically starts practicing in October and plays its first game in November. The season usually ends in March, but it can extend into April if the team makes it to the postseason.
Ecu basketball is currently a Division I sport and competes in the American Athletic Conference The team is based in Greenville, North Carolina and plays its home games at Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.
Guard
The Ecu Basketball has a talented and young team this season. Meet the Guard of the 2017-2018 roster.
##David Blackmon:
Blackmon is a 6’3″ guard from Kissimmee, Florida. He is a freshman and joins the Pirates after playing his High School basketball at Osceola Fundamental. During his senior year, he averaged 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists per game He was named to the All-County and All-Conference teams.
Forward
The Forwards on the ECU Basketball team are:
Isaiah Harvin – 6’7” redshirt freshman from Kernersville, North Carolina Harvin averaged 22.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game as a senior at East Forsyth high school
Jayden Gardner – 6’7” sophomore from Charlotte, North Carolina Gardner averaged 19 points and 9 rebounds per game as a senior at South Caldwell high school He was named to the 2018-19 Associated Press all-state team.
Tyler Foster – 6’8” redshirt junior from Chesapeake, Virginia. Foster transferred to ECU from Old Dominion University where he averaged 3 points and 2 rebounds per game in 2017-18.
Center
Eddie is a 6’11”, 245-pound center from Melbourne, Australia. He played his high school basketball at Compassmark and was a member of the 2017-2018 NBL Under-18 All-Star Five. In his one season at ECU, he averaged 7.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 22 games.
Bench
The bench is a vital part of any basketball team They are the players who come in when the starters need a break, and they provide a spark when the team needs it. They are also the players who often decide close games. Here is a look at the bench players for the Ecu men’s Basketball team
## Percy Gibson: A 6’9″ forward from Queens, NY, Gibson is a transfer from Maryland. He is a physical player who can score in the post and rebound well. He will be a key player off the bench for the Pirates this season.
## Daron Bell: A 6’4″ guard from Orlando, FL, Bell is a transfer from Central Florida. He is a high-energy player who can score and defend. He will be a key player off the bench for the Pirates this season.
## Khaliq Spicer: A 6’11” center from Newark, NJ, Spicer is a transfer from Seton Hall He is a big body who can block shots and rebound. He will be a key player off the bench for the Pirates this season.
Schedule
The ECU basketball team has a long and illustrious history dating back to its founding in 1901. The team has won five NCAA Division I National Championships and is currently ranked in the top 25 in the nation. The roster for the 2017-2018 season is listed below.

Results
The ECU basketball team has had a successful season so far, with a record of 18-4. The team is led by senior guard Kentrell Barkley, who is averaging 18.5 points per game Other Key Players include junior forward Isaiah Rogers (13.1 ppg) and sophomore guard Jayden Gardner (12.6 ppg). The team’s leading rebounder is Rogers, who is averaging 9.5 rebounds per game.
Media
The Media Day for the ECU basketball team was held on October 12th. The team answered questions from the media about the upcoming season Head Coach Jeff Lebo talked about the expectations for the team and how they are looking to improve on last year’s performance. The players also talked about their individual goals for the season and what they are looking to accomplish as a team.
The ECU basketball team is a young team with only two seniors on the roster. The team is led by junior guard Shawn Williams, who was named to the preseason all-conference team. Williams is joined by junior forward Dimitrije Cabarkapa and sophomore guard Jeremy Sheppard as the three returning starters from last season. The Pirates will look to these three players to provide leadership and scoring this season.
The ECU Basketball team will have their first exhibition game on November 5th against Barton College. The regular season will begin on November 10th when they host Norfolk State University
