ECU basketball Releases Schedule for Upcoming Season
The ECU Basketball team has announced their schedule for the upcoming season The team will play a total of 28 games, with 14 of those being conference games. The non-Conference Schedule includes games against powerhouses like Duke, UNC, and NC State.
The ECU men’s basketball team will tip off its 2019-20 season on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Minges Coliseum against North Carolina A&T.
The Pirates will play a total of 28 regular-season games, which includes 14 contests against American Athletic Conference foes. ECU’s non-conference slate features tilts against instate foes Duke, UNC and NC State as well as road tests at Appalachian State Richmond and Wright State
ECU Men’s Basketball set to Tip Off 2018-19 Season
The ECU men’s Basketball team will tip off the 18-19 season with a pair of home games against North Carolina A&T (Nov. 6) and Norfolk State (Nov. 9) as part of ESPN’s College Tip-Off Marathon, which will air live on ESPNU.
The Pirates will play a total of 31 regular season games, including 16 contests at Minges Coliseum. ECU’s non-conference slate features home games against in-state foes UNC Wilmington (Nov. 19), High Point (Nov. 28) and Campbell (Dec. 8), as well as a road trip to take on Marquette (Dec. 29) in Milwaukee, Wis., as part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games.
ECU Women’s Basketball Announces Schedule for 2018-19 Season
The East Carolina women’s basketball team released its schedule for the 2018-19 season on Wednesday afternoon, highlighted by 15 games at Minges Coliseum.
The Pirates will open the season on Nov. 6 at home against UNC Asheville before hitting the road for three consecutive games. ECU will play at Charlotte (Nov. 9), Appalachian State (Nov. 11) and Clemson (Nov. 16) before returning home to host Wofford on Nov. 18.

ECU Men’s Basketball to Host Virginia Tech in 2018-19 Season Opener
The ECU men’s basketball team will host Virginia Tech in their 2018-19 season opener the school announced on Tuesday. The game will be played on November 6th at Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.
The Pirates will play a total of 18 home games this season, including ACC opponents Clemson, Miami, North Carolina State Pittsburgh, and Syracuse. ECU will also host non-conference foes James Madison Gardner-Webb, Liberty, Marshall, North Carolina A&T, North Carolina Central, Norfolk State South Alabama and William & Mary.
On the road, ECU will travel to take on ACC foes Duke, Georgia Tech Louisville, Notre Dame and Virginia. The Pirates will also play non-conference road games at Bethune-Cookman and VCU.
The 2018-19 season will mark the return of ECU to the American Athletic Conference after spending the last two seasons as a member of Conference USA

The ECU women’s basketball team will open its 2018-19 campaign against NC State on Nov. 7, the school announced Wednesday.
The Pirates will play a total of 30 games this season, including 17 at Minges Coliseum. ECU will face NC State, Florida State Louisville, Miami and South Florida at home during conference play
ECU’s non-conference slate includes games against Old Dominion, UNC Greensboro, James Madison Stetson and UNC Wilmington.
The Pirates will open the season with a four-game homestand, beginning with NC State on Nov. 7.
ECU Men’s Basketball to Face Duke in 2018-19 ACC/Big Ten Challenge
The ECU men’s basketball team will face Duke in the 2018-19 ACC/Big Ten Challenge, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
The game will be played on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C., and will be televised on either ESPN or ESPN2. Tipoff time and network designation will be announced at a later date.
ECU is 1-9 all-time in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge with its lone win coming against Northwestern in 2009. The Pirates are 0-4 against Duke, with their last meeting taking place during the 2015-16 season.
ECU Women’s Basketball to Host Virginia in 2018-19 ACC/Big Ten Challenge
The ECU women’s Basketball team will take on Virginia in the 2018-19 ACC/Big Ten Challenge, as announced by the two conferences on Thursday. The game will be played on either Nov. 28 or 29 at Minges Coliseum.
The announcement of the annual challenge matchups comes one day after the release of ECU’s full non-conference schedule The Pirates will play 11 games outside of conference play with seven of those games coming at home.

ECU Men’s Basketball to Play Kentucky in 2018-19 SEC/Big East Challenge
The ECU men’s Basketball Team will play Kentucky as part of the 2018-19 SEC/Big East Challenge, the leagues announced on Wednesday.
The annual event, which features all 14 SEC teams and all 12 Big East teams, will take place December 1-8 on various campus sites. ECU’s game against Kentucky will be played on Saturday, December 8 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky.
This will be the fifth time that ECU has participated in the SEC/Big East Challenge. The Pirates are 1-3 all-time in the event, with their lone win coming against Arkansas in 2012.
ECU Women’s Basketball to Take on South Carolina in 2018-19 SEC/Big East Challenge
The ECU women’s Basketball team will take on South Carolina in the 2018-19 SEC/Big East Challenge, the school announced Wednesday.
The game will be played on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, S.C., and will be televised on SEC Network+.
This will be the first meeting between the two programs since Dec. 21, 2002, when the Gamecocks defeated the Pirates 78-54 in Columbia.
ECU is 1-5 all-time against South Carolina with the lone win coming on Jan. 2, 1983, a 65-54 victory over the No. 14 Gamecocks in Greenville.
ECU Men’s and Women’s Basketball Schedule for 2018-19 Season
The ECU men’s and women’s basketball teams have announced their schedules for the 2018-19 season. The men’s team will begin their season on November 6th with an away game against James Madison University. They will then have a Home game against North Carolina A&T on November 9th.
The women’s team will start their season on November 7th with a home game against Norfolk State University
Both teams will participate in the Shark classic tournament from November 16-18. The men’s team will play two games while the women’s team will only play one.
Conference play for both teams will begin in late December and continue through February.
The men’s team has a total of 17 home games and 16 away games while the women’s team has 14 Home Games and 15 away games.
