The top players for 2020

It’s time to start thinking about 2020 fantasy baseball and that means it’s time for the annual Fantrax Dynasty Baseball Rankings

These rankings are intended for those of you in dynasty or keeper leagues, and they are based on a blend of past performance and future potential. We’ll be releases our positional rankings over the next few weeks, so keep checking back.

Without further ado, here are the Fantrax Dynasty baseball Rankings for 2020:

1. Mike Trout OF, Los Angeles Angels – It should come as no surprise that Trout tops our dynasty baseball rankings The 27-year-old is a five-tool stud who has finished first or second in AL MVP voting in each of the last seven seasons. He’s also averaged 34 homers and 97 RBI per year during that span, so there’s little reason to think he won’t continue to be a fantasy stud for years to come.

2. Ronald Acuna Jr., OF, Atlanta Braves – Acuna is one of the few players who could challenge Trout for the top spot on this list in future years. The 21-year-old already has back-to-back 30+ homer seasons under his belt, and he also stole 41 bases last year while batting .280/.365/.520 with a 148 wRC+. He’s an elite fantasy outfielder in all formats and should be one of the first five players off the board in all dynasty leagues.

3. Fernando Tatis Jr., SS, San Diego Padres – Tatis burst onto the scene last year and was one of the biggest surprises in fantasy baseball The 20-year-old slugged 22 homers in just 84 games while batting .317/.379/.590 with nine stolen bases and a 149 wRC+. He’s currently the top shortstop in dynasty leagues and has a chance to be a top-five overall player for many years to come.

4. Juan Soto OF, Washington Nationals – Soto might have been an even bigger surprise than Tatis last year, as the 19-year-old put up video game numbers across the board. He batted .282/.401/.548 with 34 homers, 110 RBI, 109 runs scored and 10 stolen bases while posting a 163 wRC+. He’s already an elite fantasy outfielder and should only get better as he continues to develop at the Big League level.

5. Alex Bregman, 3B/SS, Houston Astros – Bregman is one of the best all-around fantasy players in the Game Today The 24-year-old has hit at least 30 homers in each of the last two seasons while also batting over .290 with solid run production numbers (he had 103 RBI last year). He also chipped in 10 stolen bases for good measure and should continue to be a well-rounded fantasy star for many years to come.
