The team’s strengths
Fisher University’s Men’s basketball team has a few core strengths that have led to their recent string of success. First and foremost, the team’s leaders are experienced and know how to win. Coach Smith has been at the helm for six seasons and has helped develop a culture of winning. Senior guard Jake Adams is the team’s leading scorer and was named conference player of the year last season. He is a dynamic playmaker that can take over a game when needed. The team also has strong perimeter shooting with three point specialists such as Ryan McKay and Matt Gorman. This makes them a tough team to defend as they can score from anywhere on the court. Another strength of this team is their depth. They have 10 players that see significant minutes and any one of them could start on most nights. This allows them to wear down opponents with their fresh legs in the second half. Finally, the team is Mental Toughness personified. They have shown time and time again that they can execute in pressure situations and come out with a win.
The team’s weaknesses
While the team has made great strides in the past few years, there are still some areas that need improvement. One weakness is their lack of size. The starting lineup includes only one player who is 6’5″ or taller, and the bench is even shorter. This can be a problem against taller, more physical teams. Another weakness is their lack of experience. The team relies heavily on freshmen and sophomores, and they have not faced much adversity in recent years
