Head Coach of the Glenville State women’s basketball team has resigned her position effective immediately.

In a statement released by the school, Reese cited personal reasons for her resignation.

“I would like to thank Glenville State College for the opportunity to lead their women’s Basketball Program ” Reese said. “However, due to personal reasons I have decided to resign my position effective immediately. I wish the team and the college all the best in the future.”

Reese was in her first season as head coach of the Pioneers, and finishes her tenure with a record of 5-21.

The Glenville State women’s Basketball team will be looking for a new head coach after the resignation of Coach Sami Whitcomb, effective immediately.

Whitcomb leaves the team with a record of 42-16 in her two seasons at the helm of the program. The team made it to the semifinals of the West Virginia conference tournament in both Whitcomb’s seasons, but was unable to secure a berth in the NCAA tournament

Assistant Coach Tiana Dyer will take over as interim head coach for the remainder of the season. It is unclear at this time whether or not she will be a candidate for the permanent position.

The Glenville State women’s basketball team announced today that head coach Julie Goodwill has resigned. In her four years at the helm of the program, Coach Goodwill led the team to an overall record of 87-22 (.797), including a 52-12 (.813) mark in conference play

“It has been an honor and a privilege to coach the women’s basketball team at Glenville State for the past four years,” said Coach Goodwill. “I am grateful for the opportunity that I have had to work with such a talented group of young women. I am confident that they will continue to have success in the future.”

Assistant coach, Ashley Ninham will serve as the interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

After six seasons at the helm of the Glenville State women’s Basketball Program head coach Otis Key has resigned.

“I would like to thank Glenville State College President Peter Barr, and Athletic Director Heath eslinger for the opportunity to lead the Lady Pioneers Basketball Program ” said Key. “I am grateful for the support of my family as well as the six assistant coaches who have worked alongside me during my tenure.”

Under Key’s leadership, the Lady Pioneers improved their win total each of his first five seasons, highlighted by a 23-9 record in 2016-17 which included a perfect 16-0 mark in conference play and an appearance in the West Virginia conference tournament Championship game That season also saw Glenville State earn its first NCAA Division II national ranking in 15 years.

During his time at Glenville State, Key coached two WVIAC Players of the Year, four All-WVIAC first Team selections one WBCA All-American honorable mention, and six Academic All-Americans. In addition, his teams helped raise over $10,000 for Breast Cancer Awareness

President Peter Barr said, “Coach Key has been a great asset to our athletics program and we appreciate all he has done for our student-athletes. We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
