Godwin Heights Basketball is Back
After a disappointing season last year, the Godwin Heights Basketball team is back and stronger than ever. This year, the team is determined to win the conference and make it to the State Championships With a new Head Coach and a slew of new players, the team is off to a great start. The GODWIN Heights Basketball IS BACK AND STRONGER THAN EVER.
The Team is Stronger Than Ever
You can tell that the team has been working hard in the off-season and they are really coming together as a unit. They have great team chemistry and they are really playing well together.
New Additions to the Team
This year, the Godwin Heights basketball team is looking better than ever with some impressive new additions to the squad. Now that the school has been rebuilt after the fire, the team has access to top-notch facilities and equipment. Additionally, the team has added some talented new players who are sure to take them far this season.
With their new home court advantage and expert coaching, the Godwin Heights Basketball team is poised for a great season. Be sure to catch them in action and root for them all the way to the championships!
The Team’s Pre-Season Training
The Godwin Heights High School basketball team has been hard at work during pre-season training. With a new crop of talented players and a lot of enthusiasm, the team is looking forward to a great season.
During pre-season, the team has been working on their Shooting, Ball Handling, and Defense. They have also been focusing on team unity and building team chemistry. With so much talent on the roster, it’s important for the team to come together and play as one unit.
The Godwin Heights basketball team has high hopes for the upcoming season With hard work and dedication, they are determined to bring home a winning record. Go Wolverines!
Their First Game of the Season
The Godwin Heights Varsity Basketball team started their season off with a 48-39 home victory against Kelloggsville on Friday, December 6. The team is looking stronger than ever this season with eight returning players. They are led by their three captains: senior shooting guard Jaylen Reyes, junior point guard Deonte Gray, and junior wing player Xavier Lester. The team is looking to build off of last year’s success and make a run at the state championship
The Team’s Second Game of the Season
The Godwin Heights basketball team is back and stronger than ever. After a disappointing end to last season, the team is looking to redeem themselves and make a run for the state championship The team’s second game of the season was against rival school, East GRand Rapids The game was intense, but in the end, Godwin Heights came out on top with a final score of 74-69.
The Team’s Third Game of the Season
The Godwin Heights Varsity basketball team is back and stronger than ever. As they enter their third game of the season, they are hopeful to continue their Winning Streak The team has had an incredible season so far, with their only loss coming from a close game against conference rivals, East Grand Rapids
This season, the Godwin Heights Varsity Basketball team is led by Senior Captain Jake Piotrowski. Jake has been a starting player on the team for three years and is one of the most experienced players on the court. He is a powerful force on both ends of the court and provides leadership and guidance to his teammates.
Alongside Jake is Junior shooting guard Tyler Bauman. Tyler is a sharpshooter who always seems to find himself open for a shot. He has been described as a “natural scorer” by his coaches and is one of the most lethal shooters in the conference.
The team’s starting point guard is Sophomore Alex Trammell. Alex is a dynamic playmaker who has a knack for making big plays in clutch moments. He doesn’t back down from anyone on the court and always competes at a high level.
Rounding out the starting lineup is Senior forward Luke Wisniewski and Junior center Josh Holloman. Luke is a versatile player who can score in multiple ways and rebound at a high level. He provides energy and toughness for the team whenever he steps on the court. Josh Holloman is one of the tallest players on the team and uses his size to his advantage in the post. He is constantly improving his skills and has developed into a very good post player over his two years on varsity.
The Godwin Heights Varsity Basketball Team has high hopes for this season and looks to build off of their early success. With strong leaders and talented young players they are poised to make a run at the conference championship
The Team’s Fourth Game of the Season
The Godwin Heights Basketball team won their fourth game of the season against Grand Rapids Christian on January 17. The final score was 72-43. This was a Home game for the Wolverines, and they had strong crowd support throughout the game.
Grand Rapids Christian started off the game with a 3-pointer, but Godwin quickly took the lead and never looked back. The Wolverines were up by 15 points at halftime and continued to extend their lead in the second half. Godwin’s defense was strong, forcing Grand Rapids Christian to turn the ball over several times. The Wolverines also did a good job of rebounding, which led to easy baskets on offense.
The entire team contributed to the victory, but a few players deserves special mention. Senior guard Matt Johnson scored a game-high 21 points, including four 3-pointers. Junior forward Denzel Love had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. And sophomore point guard Amariontez Ivy dished out a team-leading six assists.
This was a Big Win for Godwin Heights, as they continue to build momentum heading into the heart of their Conference Schedule
The Team’s Fifth Game of the Season
The Godwin Heights varsity Basketball team is having a strong season so far, with a current record of 3-2. This fifth game of the season against View High School is especially important, as it is a conference game. Conference games are always tough, but the Wolverines are up for the challenge. They have been working hard in practice and are ready to put their skills to the test against Northview.
Godwin Heights is a small school, but that does not stop them from being a force to be reckoned with on the court. The team’s success is due in large part to their strong work ethic and dedication to improving every day. These players are not only talented, but they are also good people off the court. They are friendly and well-liked by their classmates, which makes them easy to root for.
No matter what the outcome of this game is, it is clear that Godwin Heights has a bright future ahead in basketball. With a group of committed players and a supportive community, there is no doubt that the Wolverines will continue to be a force in conference play
The Team’s Sixth Game of the Season
It was a rough start to the season for the Godwin Heights Wolverines basketball team losing their first four games. However, they are now on a two-game winning streak after defeating both Princeton and Kelloggsville. They hope to continue their winning ways in their sixth game of the season against Wayland.
