Gonzaga University’s new head men’s basketball coach is Mark Few. Coach Few has been with the Bulldogs since 1989, serving as an Assistant Coach from 1989-1997 and then as the Head Coach since 1999. In his time as head coach the Bulldogs have gone to the NCAA tournament 17 times, including four trips to the Sweet Sixteen and one to the Elite Eight. In 2017, they made it all the way to the National Championship game before losing to North Carolina

Few has been named the West Coast Conference Coach of the Year eight times, most recently in 2019. He was also named the National Coach of the Year by CBSSports.com in 2015. In 2017, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame
In his time at Gonzaga, Few has led the Bulldogs to the NCAA Tournament every year except one, when the team missed out in his first season in 1999-00. The Bulldogs have made it to at least the Sweet 16 eight times under Few, including three Elite Eight appearances and one trip to the National Championship game in 2017.

Gonzaga University is pleased to announce the hiring of Mark Few as the new Head coach of the men’s Basketball team Few has been with the program for 18 years, serving as an assistant coach for 10 years before being promoted to head coach in 1999.
Few has been successful at every level of coaching, leading Gonzaga to 15 NCAA tournament appearances, including five Sweet Sixteen appearances and two Elite Eight appearances. Most recently, he led the team to a 32-1 record and a No. 1 ranking in the AP Poll for most of the season.

Mark Few is in his 19th season as Gonzaga’s head men’s basketball coach and is the longest-tenured Division I head coach in the West. In his 18 years at Gonzaga, he has transformed the Bulldogs into a perennial national contender and one of the top programs in the country.
In 2017-18, Gonzaga finished with a 32-5 record, won its 17th consecutive West Coast Conference regular season title and advanced to the NCAA tournament for the 20th straight year. The Bulldogs were also ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press poll for four weeks, marking the first time in school history that Gonzaga has been atop the rankings for that prolonged period of time.

Mark Few, who has been the basketball coach at Gonzaga University for the past 18 years, has been given a new 10-year contract that will keep him with the school until 2028. The contract is worth $3 million per year, making him one of the highest-paid coaches in college basketball
Few has led the Gonzaga Bulldogs to a record of 502-134 during his tenure, and they have made the NCAA tournament every year since 1999. In 2017, they made it all the way to the Final Four before losing to North Carolina in the national semifinals.

Few has led Gonzaga to 26 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including 20 in a row as a head coach which ranks second all-time behind only Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski His teams have advanced to the Sweet Sixteen nine times, the Elite Eight five times and the National Championship game once. In 2017, he was named National Coach of the Year by several outlets after guiding Gonzaga to a 32-1 record and a No. 1 ranking in both major polls for the first time in school history.
During his time at Gonzaga, Few has coached 17 NBA draft picks, including two No. 1 overall selections in Adam Morrison (2006) and Andrew Bogut (2005). He has also been named West Coast Conference Coach of the Year eight times (2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2013, 2016) and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017.
