Introducing Hope National University Basketball

Welcome to Hope International University Basketball We are a NCAA Division II Basketball Program located in Fullerton, California. We are a member of the Pacific West Conference Our conference is made up of schools from California, Arizona, Utah, and Hawaii. We play our home games in the 3,500 seat Gibble Field House on campus.

We are led by Head Coach Bill Carrigg who is entering his 18th season at the helm of the program. Our men’s Basketball team has won two conference championships and made four appearances in the NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Tournament Our women’s basketball team has won one conference championship and made three appearances in the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Tournament

The Hope International University Basketball Schedule

The Hope International University Basketball Schedule for the 2017-2018 season has been released, and the Royals are looking to build on their great success from last year.

The Royals finished the 2016-2017 season with a 26-5 record, and they made it all the way to the NAIA Division II National Championship game. This year, they will be looking to take that next step and win it all.

The schedule is very tough, as always, but there are some really great matchups that should get everyone excited. Here are some of the key games:

Nov. 3 vs Azusa Pacific University This is always a big game for the Royals, as they take on their crosstown rivals. The Cougars are always a tough team, but Hope will be looking to come out on top this year.

Nov. 17 vs Concordia University Irvine: This is one of the biggest games of the year for Hope, as they take on their biggest rival in the Golden State Athletic Conference The Eagles are always a tough team to beat, but Hope will be ready for them this year.

Dec. 2 vs Vanguard University: This is another big game for Hope, as they take on another GSAC rival. The Lions are always a tough team to play against, but Hope will be looking to get a win in this one.

The Hope International University Basketball Roster

The Hope International University basketball team is composed of student-athletes who are committed to representing the school with dignity and respect. The team is diverse, with players from all over the world. The common goal of the team is to win games and championships. But more importantly, the team provides hope for the future.

The Hope International University basketball roster includes:

-Dylan able: A 6’8” Power Forward from Los Angeles California, Dylan has a strong work ethic and is a natural leader. He is a versatile player who can score inside and outside, and is a superb rebounder.
-Avery Peterson: A 6’1” shooting guard from Omaha, Nebraska, Avery is a gifted scorer with a deadly accurate jump shot He is also an excellent ball-handler and passer.
-Andrew Nguyen: A 6’5” small forward from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Andrew is an explosive athlete who excels in transition. He is a high-energy player who consistently hustles on both ends of the court.
-Isaiah Brooks: A 6’4” shooting guard from Chicago, Illinois, Isaiah is a strong and physical player who loves to play defense He has a knack for coming up with big plays in big moments.
-Justin James: A 6’0″ point guard from Queens, New York, Justin is a quick and shifty playmaker with impeccable vision. He orchestrates the offense and always seems to make the right play.

The Hope International University Basketball Coaches

The Hope International University basketball program has been a pillar of Hope since its creation in 1971. The Men’s and Women’s teams have garnered numerous conference, divisional, and National Championships throughout the years. In 2017, the Men’s team won their first ever National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Division II National Championship The Women’s team has also been crowned National Champions three times (in 1992, 2006, and 2016). On top of all this success, both teams have had Angie Paccione named Coach of the Year an astonishing eleven times.

The Hope International University Basketball Facilities

The Hope International University (HIU) basketball facilities are located on the upper campus of the university. The main facility is the Dornan Center, which serves as the home court for the Royals men’s and women’s basketball teams The Dornan Center has a capacity of 2,000 people. The center is named after alumni and former HIU men’s basketball coach Joe Dornan. The Dornan Center is home to the offices of the HIU Basketball Coaching Staff a weight room, locker rooms and a training room.

The Hope International University Basketball facilities also include the Dornan Practice Gym. The practice gym has a capacity of 500 people. It is named after former HIU men’s basketball player Art Dornan. The practice gym is used by the Royals men’s and women’s Basketball teams for practices and shootarounds.
