The IPFW men’s basketball team is a Division I college basketball team that represents Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) in the Summit League The team is currently coached by Tony Jasick. The Mastodons have appeared in one NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament As of 2017, the Mastodons have an all-time record of 617–862.

IPFW first fielded a men’s basketball team in 1957. They joined the Midwest Collegiate Conference (now known as the Horizon League) in 1985, and competed there until they joined The Summit League in 2007. In 2015–16, their final season as a Division I Independent, the Mastodons finished with an 18–15 record, their best since joining Division I in 2001. They were invited to and won the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT).

The IPFW Mastodons men’s Basketball Team is a collegiate Basketball Program that competes in the Summit League, representing Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne They are currently coached by John Harrell who took over for Dane Fife after the 2016–17 season.

IPFW Men’s Basketball Highlights

On January 2nd, the IPFW Mastodons men’s Basketball team played a game against the IUPUI Jaguars The game ended with a score of 71-63, with the Mastodons winning. This was a Big Win for the team, as they had been on a losing streak prior to this game.

Some highlights of the game included senior forward John Konchar scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, freshman guard Jarred Godfrey scoring 15 points, and junior guard DeAngelo Stewart scoring 12 points. Konchar’s 21 points were a career-high for him, and Godfrey’s 15 points were also a career-high. It was a great game for both players, as well as for the team as a whole.
