While at Notre Dame Becker’s team reached the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament twice. He was named an All-American in 1981 and graduated with a degree in business administration in 1982. Following his collegiate career, Becker was drafted by the Indiana Pacers in the second round of the 1982 NBA draft However, he chose to pursue a career in Europe instead of playing in the NBA.
Becker spent twelve years playing Professional Basketball in Italy and Spain. He won several championships and was named one of the top 50 players in European history by FIBA (the National Basketball Federation). In 1994, Becker returned to the United States and became Head Coach of the men’s basketball team at Lebanon Valley College He coached at Lebanon Valley for two years before moving on to become an Assistant Coach at his alma mater, Notre Dame In 2000, Becker became head coach at La Salle University During his six seasons as Head Coach at La Salle, Becker led the team to four NCAA tournament appearances.
