The team is led by senior captain, Matt Znicka, who is a four-year starter and was named to the All-Conference team last year. The pitching staff is anchored by junior ace, Nick Costanza, who was also named to the All-Conference team last year. The Mercyhurst University baseball team has two experienced and respected coaches. head coach Steve Popeck has led the team since 2006, and Assistant Coach Andrew Pagliaroli has been with the team since 2007.
Both coaches have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the Game of Baseball Coach Popeck played baseball at Mercyhurst University from 1992-1995, and he also has experience coaching at the High School level. Coach Pagliaroli played professionally for six years before joining the Mercyhurst Coaching Staff
