The Tradition of Excellence

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) baseball team has a long-standing tradition of excellence. The program has been in existence for over 50 years and has produced numerous professional players and Major League Baseball (MLB) draft picks In recent years the team has won several conference championships and made several appearances in the NJCAA Division I World Series The MGCCC Baseball Team is consistently ranked among the top Community College teams in the nation and is a perennial powerhouse in the state of Mississippi.

The History of the MGCCC Baseball Program

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) baseball program is one of the most successful programs in the history of junior college baseball The Bulldogs have won nine NJCAA World Series titles, 21 conference championships, and have had over 200 players drafted by Major League Baseball teams.

MGCCC began fielding a team in 1955, and their first season was a success, as they won the NJCAA District VII championship. The team would go on to win two more district championships in 1956 and 1957. In 1958, the Bulldogs made their first appearance in the NJCAA World Series but they were defeated in the semifinals.

The 1960s were a decade of dominance for MGCCC, as they won six NJCAA World Series titles in the decade (1961-1963-1964-1965-1966-1969). The Bulldogs would also win conference championships in 1967 and 1968.

The 1970s started off with another NJCAA World Series title for MGCCC in 1970. The team would also win conference championships in 1970 and 1971. In 1972, MGCCC made their first appearance in the Division I State Tournament but they were defeated in the semifinals. The 1973 season was cancelled due to a player strike.

The Bulldogs returned to form in 1974, as they won another NJCAA World Series title. The team would also make appearances in the Division I State Tournament in 1975 and 1976, but they were defeated both times in the semifinals. MGCCC would win their eighth NJCAA World Series title in 1977.

In 1978, the team made it back to the Division I state tournament but they were once again defeated in the semifinals. The Bulldogs finished the decade with another NJCAA World Series titlein 1979.

The MGCCC baseball program has a long tradition of excellence, dating back to its days as a junior college Today, the program is a four-year institution, and its teams compete at the Division I level. The program has produced many Major League baseball players and its teams have won conference championships and made numerous appearances in the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship

The future of MGCCC baseball looks bright. The team has a rich tradition of success, and the players and coaches are determined to continue that tradition. The team has a strong commitment to recruiting and developing local talent, and they are also committed to building a program that is inclusive and welcoming to all players. The team is excited to continue their success in the years to come and they are grateful for the support of their fans.

The MGCCC Baseball Players

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Community college baseball religious tradition of excellence has been a cornerstone of the school since its establishment in 1992.

The school has produced some of the best baseball players in the country and has won numerous championships.

The MGCCC baseball team has won 5 National Championships 6 conference championships, and has made 8 appearances in the College World Series

The team is consistently ranked amongst the top teams in the country, and has produced many Major League Baseball players.

The MGCCC Baseball Facilities

The MGCCC baseball facilities are some of the best in the country. The stadium is equipped with a state-of-the-art press box, concessions, and seating for 1,500 fans. The field itself is made of natural grass and has a drainage system that allows it to be playable even after heavy rains.

The team’s training facility is located just a few miles from the stadium and includes a weight room, locker room training room, and office space for the Coaching Staff The team also has access to an indoor batting cage and Pitching Mound

The MGCCC Baseball Schedule

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) Bulldogs baseball team has a tradition of excellence, winning nine NJCAA Division II national championships. The team is a regular contender for the title, and fans can follow their progress by checking the schedule below.

The MGCCC Bulldogs play their home games at the George County High School baseball field in Lucedale, Mississippi. The ballpark has a capacity of 1,000 fans, and tickets can be purchased at the gate on game day

The team is currently coached by Rodney Batts, who has been at the helm since 2013. Under his leadership, the Bulldogs have won two NJCAA Division II national championships and made four appearances in the College World Series

The Bulldogs have a rich history of producing major league baseball players, including Jason Varitek, Jonny Venters, and Brooks Kieschnick.

The MGCCC Baseball Conference

The MGCCC baseball conference is a conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Division I, located in the southeastern United States The conference is currently made up of 12 member institutions, all of which are located in the states of Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

The conference was founded in 1990 as the tan baseball Conference with members from Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina South Carolina and Tennessee. In 1992, the conference expanded to include Florida and changed its name to the Metro Conference. In 1997, the conference again expanded to include Arkansas and Louisiana and changed its name to the Metro-Eastern Conference Finally, in 2000, the conference adopted its current name of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community college baseball Conference.

The MGCCC Baseball Conference is divided into two divisions: East and West. The East Division includes Alabama A&M University, Jacksonville State University University of Memphis, University of South Alabama, and Tennessee State University The West Division includes Kansas State University-Jonesboro, Louisiana Tech University, Mississippi Valley State University Southeast Missouri State University Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and West Virginia State University

The conference championship is determined by a tournament held at the end of the regular season The tournament is a double-elimination format with the top two teams from each division receiving a first-round bye.

The MGCCC Baseball Postseason

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) Baseball Team has a long tradition of postseason success. The Bulldogs have qualified for the NJCAA Division I Baseball Tournament 20 times in the program’s history, including 17 times since 2000. MGCCC has won five NJCAA Division I Baseball World Series titles and eight Region 23 championships.

The Bulldogs are currently coached by Rodney Choy Foo, who has led the team to four straight Region 23 titles and three World Series appearances. Under Coach Foo’s leadership, the Bulldogs have compiled a record of 434-172 (.716 winning percentage) and have won at least 40 games in each of the past eight seasons.

The MGCCC Baseball team has a rich tradition of success that extends beyond its on-field accomplishments. The Bulldogs are committed to community service and have donated hundreds of hours to local organizations over the years. In addition, the team’s alumni have gone on to have successful careers in professional baseball with several players reaching the Major Leagues

The MGCCC baseball team is a source of pride for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and its fans, and the Bulldogs’ postseason success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved with the program.
