The team won the Super Regional against Vanderbilt, and will now advance to Omaha to compete for the National Championship This is the first time in program history that the team has made it to the CWS, and they will be looking to make a splash when they take on their first opponent.

The Mississippi State baseball team had an amazing season. They worked hard and fought their way through the regular season earning a spot in the postseason.

In the postseason, they kept winning, and eventually found themselves in the CWS. This is their first time in the CWS since winning it all in 2013.

They will have to face some tough competition, but they are excited for the challenge. They know that they can compete with anyone, and they are ready to show the world what they are made of.

The players to watch in the CWS

There are a few Key Players to keep an eye on if you’re rooting for Mississippi State in the College World Series

First, there’s pitcher Dakota Hudson. Hudson has been one of the best pitchers in college baseball this season, and he’ll be counted on to lead the Bulldogs in Omaha.

Next, there’s outfielder Jake Mangum Mangum is a gifted hitter who can also play solid defense in the outfield. He’ll be a key player for Mississippi State all tournament long.

Finally, keep an eye on third baseman Gavin Collins. Collins is another excellent hitter who has been red-hot lately. He’s also a very good Defensive Player which will be important in the CWS.

The team’s path to the CWS

It took a little longer than they would have liked, but the Bulldogs are headed to Omaha for the first time since 2007. Here’s a look at their path to the College World Series

The Bulldogs finished the regular season with a 41-16-1 record, good for second place in the SEC West behind only LSU. They then went on to win the SEC tournament defeating Ole Miss Florida, and Auburn along the way.

Their first game in Omaha will be against Oregon State on Saturday, June 16th. The Beavers are the top seed in the tournament and come into Omaha with a 54-4 record. They’re also the defending National Champions so the Bulldogs will have their work cut out for them.

The winner of that game will move on to play either UNC or Oklahoma State on Monday, June 18th. The loser will play an elimination game against either of those teams on Sunday, June 17th.

The CWS schedule

The complete schedule for the upcoming College World Series in Omaha has been released, and Mississippi State will open play against Oregon State on Saturday, June 16 at 7 p.m. CT.

If the Bulldogs win their opener, they will play again on Monday, June 18 at 2 p.m. CT against the winner of Saturday’s game between Indiana and Louisville. If MSU loses its opener, it will play an elimination game on Sunday, June 17 at 2 p.m. CT against the loser of Saturday’s game between Oregon State and Ohio State

The CWS venues

The College World Series (CWS) is held at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. The venue opened in 2011 and accommodates up to 24,000 fans. It is the home field of the College World Series and the Big Ten Baseball Tournament

The CWS has been held in Omaha since 1950, with the exception of two years (1958 and 1959). It was held at Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium from 1950 to 2010. The stadium was named after former mayor Johnny Rosenblatt, who was instrumental in bringing the CWS to Omaha.
