The Moberly Area Community College Men’s basketball team is a Junior College Basketball team that competes in the Midwest Community College Athletic Conference (MCCAC) of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The Greyhounds play their home games at the Arthur L. Davis Gymnasium on the campus of Moberly Area Community College in Moberly, Missouri.

The Moberly Area Community College men’s basketball team had a great season! They finished with a record of 27-5 and won the Region 16 tournament. They also had a successful run in the NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship finishing in third place.

The team has had a lot of success on the court, but more importantly, they have built strong relationships with the community. The players often visit local schools and hospitals, and they make a point to interact with fans whenever possible.
Whether they are winning games or giving back to the community, the Moberly Area Community College Men’s Basketball team is making a positive impact on those around them.

Moberly Area Community College Men’s Basketball – The History
Moberly Area Community College Men’s Basketball has a rich history dating back to the early1960s. The program has produced many Great players teams and memories over the years. Here is a look at the some of the most notable moments in Moberly Men’s Basketball History
The 1960s were a golden era for Moberly basketball. The team made it to the NJCAA National Tournament in 1963 and 1964, finishing in 3rd place both years. In 1965, the Greyhounds made it back to the National Tournament and this time claimed the NJCAA National Championship defeating Hutchinson Community College from Kansas in the Championship game This team featured star player Larry Wright, who would go on to have a successful career in the NBA.
The 1970s were not as successful for Moberly basketball as the 1960s, but there were still some great moments. In 1974, Moberly make it back to the NJCAA National Tournament but lost in the first round. The following year, the Greyhounds again made it back to Nationals but lost in the semi-finals. In 1979, Moberly won its second NJCAA National Championship this time defeating Tulsa Community College in the Championship game
The 1980s were a down decade for Moberly basketball as they only made one appearance at Nationals in 1982 where they lost in the first round. However, things began to turn around in 1990 when they made it all the way back to Nationals and finished 3rd place. They would make it back to Nationals again in 1992 and 1994 but failed to make any noise either year. Finally, in 1995 they broke through and won their third NJCAA National Championship defeating Vol State Community College from Tennessee in the Championship game
Moberly Men’s Basketball has had some great moments over its long history and there is sure to be many more to come!
Moberly Area Community College Men’s Basketball – The Tradition
Moberly Area Community College Men’s Basketball has a tradition of success on the court and in the classroom. The program has produced 12 NJCAA Division I All-Americans, 31 All-Region 16 selections, and numerous Academic All-Americans. Moberly Area Community College is also a five-time recipient of the NJCAA Division I Academic Team of the Year Award
