NBA Draft Picks So Far

The 2020 NBA draft is finally here! We’ve been tracking all the latest news and rumors leading up to the event, and now we’ve got a full list of all the picks that have been made so far. Stay up to date on all the latest draft developments with our live blog!

Kyrie Irving – Cleveland Cavaliers

Kyrie Irving point guard from Duke University was the first overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers

Derrick Williams – Minnesota Timberwolves

With the second overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft the Minnesota Timberwolves selected Power Forward Derrick Williams out of the University of Arizona Williams was a Standout Player for the Wildcats, averaging 19.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game in his two years with the team. He was named the Pac-10 Player of the Year in 2011, and helped lead Arizona to the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament

At 6’8″, Williams has good size for a power forward and is expected to be a versatile player at the next level. He has a strong offensive game, and is also a good rebounder and shot blocker. With Williams on board, the Timberwolves hope to finally have a cornerstone player to build their franchise around.

Enes Kanter – Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz have selected Enes Kanter with the third overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft

Kanter, a 6’11”, 250-pound center from Turkey, spent last season playing for Kentucky. He averaged 13.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game while shooting 61 percent from the field.

Tristan Thompson – Cleveland Cavaliers

With the fourth pick in the 2011 NBA draft the Cleveland Cavaliers selected Tristan Thompson out of Texas. The 6’9″ power forward was born in Toronto, Canada and played one year of college basketball for the Longhorns. He was named Big 12 Rookie of the Year and was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team.

Jonas Valanciunas – Toronto Raptors

With the fifth overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft the Toronto Raptors selected center Jonas Valanciunas from Lithuania. The Raptors had high hopes for the young big man, and he did not disappoint his new team, averaging 8.9 points and 6.0 rebounds in 22.5 minutes per game during his rookie season.

The following year, Valanciunas took his game to another level, raising his averages to 11.3 points and 8.8 rebounds while playing nearly 30 minutes per contest. He also emerged as one of the best young centers in the league, thanks to his excellent defensive instincts and rim-protecting ability.

Now entering his fifth NBA season Valanciunas is still just 25 years old and has plenty of room to grow as a player. He has already established himself as a key member of the Raptors’ starting lineup and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him take another step forward in 2018-19.

Jan Vesely – Washington Wizards

Jan Vesely – Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards have selected Jan Vesely with the sixth overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft

Vesely, a 6’11” forward from the Czech Republic is considered one of the top international prospects in this year’s draft. He averaged 12.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game for Partizan Belgrade last season.

Bismack Biyombo – Charlotte Bobcats

The Charlotte Bobcats have selected Bismack Biyombo with the seventh overall pick in the NBA Draft

The 19-year-old Biyombo is a 6-foot-9, 240-pound center from the Republic of Congo. He played professionally in Spain last season and is considered a raw prospect with a tremendous upside.

Biyombo is an exceptional shot blocker and rebounder, and he has shown flashes of offensive potential. He will need to improve his offensive skills and polish his all-around game, but he has the physical tools and athleticism to be a very good player in the NBA.

Brandon Knight – Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons have selected Brandon Knight from the University of Kentucky with the eighth pick in the first round of the NBA draft

Knight, a 6-foot-3 guard, averaged 17.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists as a freshman last season for the Wildcats. He shot 44 percent from the field and 37 percent from three-point range

Kemba Walker – Charlotte Bobcats

The Charlotte Bobcats have selected University of Connecticut point guard Kemba Walker with the ninth overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft

Alec Burks – Utah Jazz

Alec Burks was born in absorbent Kansas and went to High School at Grandview in Centennial, Colorado. The 6’6″ shooting guard played two years of college basketball for the University of Colorado and averaged 20 points per game during his sophomore season. He decided to forgo his final two years of eligibility and declare himself eligible for the NBA Draft He was selected 12th overall by the Utah Jazz in the 2011 NBA Draft
