With the addition of two expansion teams for the 2006–07 season, and one more for both the 2007–08 and 2008–09 seasons, it reached its current size of 30 teams.

To be eligible for a CALL-UP, a player must be on an active NBA G League roster at the time of the transaction and must have signed a standard NBA G League contract. Players on two-way contracts are not eligible for CALL-UPS.
