The Newberry college baseball team has released its 2019 schedule, which features 23 home games at historic Eleazer Stadium.

The Newberry College baseball team has announced its 2019 schedule, highlighted by 36 home games at historic Eleazer Stadium, as well as home-and-home series with instate rivals USC Aiken and Anderson.

In all, the Wolves will play 54 games in their 2019 campaign, which will feature 27 contests against South Atlantic Conference opponents. Newberry will also take on teams from the NCAA Division I Big South Conference Southern Conference Peach Belt Conference and the Mid-South Conference

“We are excited to release our 2019 schedule,” said Newberry Head Coach Brian McAlpine. “This year’s slate features some great nonconference opponents and another tough slate of South Atlantic Conference action.”

The Wolves will open the season on February 1st with a three-game series at Presbyterian College Newberry will then play 11 of its next 12 games at home, beginning with a three-game series against Lincoln Memorial on February 8th-10th.

The Newberry College Baseball Team has announced its 2019 schedule, highlighted by 32 home games and a trip to Myrtle Beach for the Shorebreak Classic.

The Wolves will open the season on February 1st with a three-game series at home against Nyack College. Newberry will then travel to Myrtle Beach South Carolina for the Shorebreak Classic, where they will take on Mercyhurst North East, West Chester and host Horry-Georgetown Technical College The Wolves will also take part in the RussMatt Invitational in Winter Haven Florida during their spring break trip, scheduled for March 8-12. They will face Concordia Chicago, Notre Dame (OH), Haverford, and Husson during that tournament.

Newberry College has announced its 2019 baseball schedule The Wolves will play a 56-game schedule with 27 games at historic Smith Road Complex.

Newberry will open the season on the road for the 13th consecutive year, traveling to take on Catawba in Salisbury, N.C., on Feb. 1-3. The Wolves will then remain on the road for a four-game series at Carson-Newman from Feb. 8-10 before opening their home schedule against Tusculum on Feb. 15-17.

“We are excited about our 2019 schedule,” said Newberry head coach Russell Triplett. “We have a very challenging non-conference slate with some quality teams that will prepare us well for conference play ”

After hosting Tusculum, Newberry will entertain Belmont Abbey for a three-game series from Feb. 22-24 before embarking on a 10-game road swing through North and South Carolina Georgia and Tennessee. The Wolves will open South Atlantic conference play at home against Mars Hill on Mar. 15-17 before hitting the road for conference tilts at Catawba (Mar. 22-24), Wingate (Mar. 29-31) and Lincoln Memorial (Apr. 5-7).

Newberry will open the season with a three-game home series against conference foe Wingate on February 1-3. Non-conference opponents include: Lincoln Memorial (twice), Barton (twice), Tusculum (three times), Catawba (three times), Southern Wesleyan (three times), Mars Hill (three times), and Carson-Newman (three times).

The Wolves have won 30 or more games in each of the last six seasons, including a school-record 41-win campaign in 2016. Newberry has also made three straight NCAA Division II Southeast Regional appearances, advancing to the Championship game in 2017.
