NHL power rankings are updated every Monday morning and ranks all 31 NHL Teams based on their performance over the last week. This week, there were some major movers and shakers, so let’s take a look at who’s hot and who’s not in the NHL.

The Hottest Team in the NHL this week is undoubtedly the Montreal Canadiens who went 3-0-0 against some tough competition. The Habs are now 15-5-5 on the season and sit atop the Atlantic Division standings. They’re led by captain Max Pacioretty, who has 17 goals and 32 points in 25 games this season.

The Dallas Stars are another team that had a great week, going 2-0-1 against some tough opponents. The Stars are now 16-9-1 on the season and sit atop the Central Division standings. They’re led by Tyler Seguin, who has 18 goals and 33 points in 26 games this season.

1. Tampa Bay Lightning
Biggest surprise: Carter Verhaeghe
After posting just two goals and five points in 28 games last season, Verhaeghe has been one of the Lightning’s best forwards this season, tallying nine goals and 19 points in 27 games. He’s been a key cog in Tampa Bay’s offense, and his production has helped offset the loss of Steven Stamkos (injury).
