Since joining Division I in 1997, Norfolk State University has become a driving force in college baseball The team finished the 2019 season with a 31-24 record, their best mark since 2010. Head Coach Claudia Laheady is enterIng her sixth season at the helm of the program. Under her leadership, the team has qualified for the MEAC Tournament three times and has produced 13 all-conference selections.
The team is led by senior pitcher Kyle Brnovich, who was named first-team All-MEAC after going 5-4 with a 2.48 ERA in 14 starts last season. He will be joined by fellow seniors Chase Chambers and Kevin Milam in the starting rotation. The offense will be anchored by junior first baseman BJ Jenkins, who led the team with 11 home runs and 37 RBIs last season.
