The Importance of Education
In recent years many high school students have been choosing to forgo a traditional education in favor of pursuing a career in professional sports While there are some exceptions, most young athletes lack the skills and maturity necessary to succeed at the professional level, and many end up sacrificing their education in pursuit of a dream that will never come to fruition.
Orange Lutheran high school is one of the few schools in the country that offers its student-athletes the best of both worlds: a top-notch education and the opportunity to compete at the highest level of high school basketball.
Over the past decade, Orange Lutheran has established itself as one of the Premier Basketball programs in the country, winning multiple state and National Championships But more important than its on-court success is the fact that every single one of its graduating seniors has gone on to attend college, many on full scholarships.
In an era where so many young athletes are choosing to forgo their education in pursuit of a professional career, Orange Lutheran is proving that it is still possible to have both a successful athletic career and a top-notch education.
The Role of Faith
In addition to its reputation for on-court success, Orange Lutheran high school is known for its strong commitment to faith. Founded in 1973, the school has always been affiliated with the Lutheran Church, and faith has played a central role in the lives of its students and athletes.
student-athletes are expected to live up to a higher standard both on and off the court. As part of their commitment to faith, they are expected to behave in a manner that reflects the values of the school and of the Lutheran Church. This includes treating others with respect, being honest and living up to their commitments.
The role of faith at Orange Lutheran is not just lip service; it is something that is actively lived out by the students and athletes every day. For many, it is an important part of what makes Orange Lutheran such a special place.
The Power of Prayer
Since its inception in 1957, Orange Lutheran High School’s Basketball team has a long tradition of success, winning multiple championships at the state and national level. But what many people don’t know is that the team’s success is not just due to its talented players and excellent coaching, but also to the power of prayer.
Before every game, the team gathers together in the locker room to say a prayer. This tradition started with the very first team, and continues to this day. The players all understand that they are not just playing for themselves or their school, but for something much bigger. They know that God is on their side and that He will help them to achieve victory.
This tradition has been a huge part of Orange Lutheran’s success over the years, and is something that sets the team apart from other schools. It is a reminder that with God on our side, anything is possible.
The Importance of Family
Since its inception, Orange Lutheran basketball has been a family. From the coaches to the players, everyone is committed to making the program the best it can be. This commitment starts with the head coach who instills the values of hard work discipline, and teamwork in his players. The players then carry these values onto the court and work together as a unit to achieve success.
This family atmosphere is what makes Orange Lutheran basketball so special. It’s what makes the team more than just a group of individuals; it’s what makes them a family. And it’s this sense of family that has helped the team achieve so much success over the years.
