The Oregon Women’s basketball team has seen a lot of success in recent years They have been to the Elite Eight four times in the last six years and won the National Championship in 2017. The team is currently ranked #3 in the nation and is looking to make another deep run in the NCAA tournament

Leading the way for the Ducks is senior guard Sabrina Ionescu. Ionescu is one of the best players in the country and is a leading candidate for National Player of the Year. She is averaging 19.9 points, 8.5 assists, and 7.8 rebounds per game Joining her in the backcourt is junior Maite Cazorla, who is averaging 14.1 points per game

In the frontcourt, Oregon has a trio of players averaging in double figures. Senior Ruthy Hebard is averaging 17.1 points and 9.6 rebounds per game while junior Satou Sabally is averaging 16.2 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. -On November 13th, the Ducks faced off against the University of Kansas Jayhawks The Jayhawks proved to be too much for the Oregon team, and they ended up losing by a score of 72-64.

-On November 17th, Oregon played against another tough opponent in the University of Connecticut Huskies. Once again, the Ducks came up short, losing by a score of 63-53.

-On November 24th, Oregon played host to the University of Detroit Mercy Titans This time, the Ducks were able to get a victory, winning by a score of 73-60.

Despite their recent string of losses, the Oregon Ducks women’s basketball team is still having a successful season overall. They will look to continue their winning ways in their next game against the University of Washington Huskies on December 1st.

-Most recently, they beat then-ranked #3 UCLA. This was undoubtedly their biggest win of the season and it solidified their spot amongst the elite teams in the nation.

Oregon has been led by senior guard Sabrina Ionescu who is having an outstanding season. She is averaging 19 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 50% from the field. She is currently leading the nation in assists and she is also a candidate for National Player of the Year. Ionescu has been flanked by junior Ruthy Hebard who is averaging 17 points and 9 rebounds per game while shooting an incredible 67% from the field. Oregon Women’s Basketball: Coach News

There is some big news coming out of the Oregon Women’s Basketball Program today. Head Coach Kelly Graves is stepping down, effective immediately.

This is a shocking development, as Graves has been one of the most successful coaches in Oregon history. In his six years at the helm, Graves led the Ducks to a 158-48 record and two Pac-12 Conference titles. Oregon also made four NCAA tournament appearances under Graves, including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2017.

Since the end of the Oregon Women’s basketball season a lot has been going on behind the scenes. From player development to coaching changes, here is everything you need to know about the team this off-season.

First, we’ll start with the coaching changes. In April, Mark Campbell announced he was stepping down as Head Coach after four seasons. The following month, Kelly Graves was hired as his replacement. Coach Graves comes to Oregon after leading Gonzaga to eight straight NCAA tournament appearances, including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2015-16. He will look to turn around a Oregon program that has only made the NCAA tournament once in the last ten years.

As for player development senior guard Maite Cazorla has been working hard to recover from an Achilles injury she suffered last season. Cazorla averaged 14 points and 5 assists per game before going down and is expected to be Oregon’s leader on and off the court this upcoming season She recently spoke about her recovery process and how excited she is to get back on the court with her teammates.

Incoming freshman Satou Sabally has also been making headlines this off-season. Sabally, who is originally from Berlin, Germany, was named Mr Basketball Europe after leading her team to a perfect 18-0 record en route to a Division I U19 European Championship Title She will look to contribute right away for an Oregon team that will be relying heavily on its young core of players next season.

The Ducks have already landed two top recruits for next season: five-star forward Sedona Prince and four-star guard Jordan Reynolds. Prince, who is 6’7″, is ranked as the No. 2 player in the country by ESPN and will be a big addition to Oregon’s frontcourt. Ashely Joens, class of 2020, was recently named the Big 12 Player of the Year. Joens, who plays for Iowa State averaged 22 points and 9 rebounds per game this season.

fellow 2020 graduate Sedona Prince also had a great season, averaging 15 points and 7 rebounds per game for Texas. Prince was recently named to the All-Big 12 defensive team.
