Get to know the 2019-2020 Quinnipiac basketball roster with this quick guide! We’ll introduce you to the 12 men who make up the team and tell you a little bit about each player.

#1 Player: Kevin Marfo
Junior center Kevin Marfo is the Hoyas’ starting center. Hailing from Ghana, Marfo is an intimidating presence in the paint and a big reason why the Hoyas are one of the best rebounding teams in the country. His 8.2 rebounds per game ranks second in the Big East and his 2.5 blocks per game is good for fourth in the conference. On offense, Marfo is averaging 10.4 points per game and shooting an impressive 63.6% from the field.
#2 Player: Rich Kelly
The Bobcats will look to Rich Kelly to be a major contributor on the court this season. The redshirt junior guard from Rye, New York returns to the team after missing all of last season due to injury.
Kelly was a key player for Quinnipiac during the 2016-17 season averaging 10.4 points and 3.6 assists per game He will be counted on to provide leadership and scoring punch for a young Bobcats squad this season.
At 6’4”, Kelly has the ability to play both inside and out. He is a strong shooter from three-point range connecting on 37 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc during his career at Quinnipiac. Kelly is also a solid finisher around the basket and is not afraid to take the big shot in crunch time.
In addition to his scoring ability, Kelly is also a gifted passer and is adept at finding open teammates on the court. He averaged over three assists per game during his last active season and will look to continue that trend this year.
With his combination of scoring, shooting and playmaking ability, Rich Kelly will be a key player for the Bobcats this season as they look to make noise in the Aac Tournament and beyond.
#3 Player: Jacob Rigoni
Jacob Rigoni is a 6’3” shooting guard from Australia. He is a sophomore at Quinnipiac University and is majoring in business. Jacob is a strong shooter and is known for his Three-point shooting He has a great work ethic and is a leader on the team. Jacob is also a very good defender and is always working to improve his game.
#4 Player: Tyrese Williams
Tyrese Williams is a 6’3″ guard from Brooklyn, New York. He played his High School basketball at Abraham Lincoln high school where he was named to the All-Brooklyn first team as a senior. Williams played his freshman season of college basketball at the University of Rhode Island before transferring to Quinnipiac for his sophomore season. In his first season with the Bobcats, Williams averaged 11.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game He was named the MAAC Rookie of the Year and was a member of the MAAC All-Rookie Team
#5 Player: Brendan Flynn
Brendan Flynn, a 6’3” junior from Randolph, NJ, is one of the team’s Top Players He averaged 11.4 points and 5.1 assists last season, and was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year. He was also named to the All-MAAC First Team.
#6 Player: Abdul-Malik Abu
Abdul-Malik Abu is a 6’8”, 240 pound Power Forward from Boston, Massachusetts. He played his high school basketball at Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, New Hampshire, where he was named a McDonald’s All-American. He played two seasons of college basketball at NC State before transferring to Quinnipiac for his junior season. In his first season with the Bobcats, he averaged 11.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game and was named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team. He is currently averaging 15.4 points and 8.5 rebounds per game as a junior.
#7 Player: Eric Garcia
Eric Garcia is a 6’3” guard from Norwalk, Connecticut. He played his high school basketball at St. Luke’s School, where he was a member of the team that won the New England Class C championship in 2016. Garcia was named to the All-New England Class C team in 2016 and 2017. He was also named to the Fairchester Athletic Association All-Star team in 2016 and 2017.
Garcia played AAU Basketball for CT Rise, and he was ranked as the No. 7 player in Connecticut by Rivals.com. He chose to attend Quinnipiac University, where he is majoring in business.
#8 Player: Isaiah Washington
Junior, Guard
6-foot-1-inch junior guard from The Bronx, New York. Appeared in all 33 games for the Bobcats last season, starting in 12 of them. Averaged 5.4 points and 1.6 assists per game.
#9 Player: Cameron Young
Cameron Young, a 6’4” guard on the Quinnipiac Bobcats is originally from Dallas, Texas. He played in 30 games last season and started in 17 of them, averaging 10.7 points per game Young had his best game of the season against Manhattan, scoring 28 points and shooting 7-for-12 from three-point range.
#10 Player: Paul Atkinson
Atkinson is a 6’9” forward who hails from Durham, England. He is a transfer from Harvard, where he played two seasons. As a sophomore, Atkinson averaged 10.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. He will have two years of eligibility remaining at Quinnipiac.
