We all love a good Cinderella story and there are definitely a few in this year’s SC high school basketball playoffs. Here are a few of our favorites:

-The Lowcountry Storm, who finished the regular season with a 9-17 record, upset the top-seeded team in their region to advance to the Sweet 16.

-The Greenwood Eagles, who were seeded 12th in their region, have knocked off two higher seeds to earn a spot in the Elite 8.

-The Ashbrook Green Wave who finished the regular season with just 11 wins, have won two Playoff Games and are one win away from the Sweet 16.

As the college Basketball season comes to a close, we turn our attention to the High School game. The South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) will crown its Boys and Girls champions in Columbia this weekend.

Let’s take a quick look at some of the potential upsets that could occur during the playoffs:

In Class A, top-seeded Clarendon Hall (22-2) will face off against eighth-seeded Lowcountry Leadership Academy (11-13). Clarendon Hall is coming off a loss to Williamsburg Academy in the District V Championship game while Lowcountry Leadership Academy has won three straight games. This one could go either way, but we’re giving the slight edge to Clarendon Hall.

In Class AA, fourth-seeded Landrum (20-6) will take on fifth-seeded Bishop England (18-8). These two teams met back on February 8th, with Landrum coming out on top by a score of 58-57. Bishop England will be looking for revenge, but we think Landrum will prevail once again.

In Class AAA, third-seeded Dorman (23-4) will go up against sixth-seeded Wade Hampton (17-10). Dorman is coming off a loss to Spartanburg in the District III Championship game while Wade Hampton beat Hillcrest to claim the District IV title. Dorman is the better team on paper, but Wade Hampton has been playing great basketball lately and we think they could pull off the upset.

The predictions for who will win it all

They’re a strong team and they’ve been playing well all season. In Division 3, we think Wren will be the State Champions They’re a very tough team and they always seem to come out on top. In Division 4, we predict that Christ Church will be the champions. They’re a very talented team and they’ve been playing great basketball all season long
