The 2022 Sodak 16 Basketball Tournament will take place in Sioux Falls South Dakota on March 18-20, 2022.

The 2022 Sodak 16 Basketball Tournament will be held in Sioux Falls South Dakota from March 16-19. The tournament is open to boys in grades 9-12 who are enrolled in High School

The tournament will consist of four pools of four teams each. The teams will play three pool games, with the top two teams from each pool advancing to the single-elimination championship bracket.

Tournament passes are available for purchase online or at the door. Prices are as follows:

All-Session Pass: $40
Single-Session Pass: $15
Students (with valid ID): $10

Tournament history

The Sodak 16 Basketball Tournament began in 2006 as a way to showcase the best high school basketball players in the state of South Dakota The tournament has been held annually since then, with the exception of 2020, when it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The tournament features 16 of the best high school basketball teams in South Dakota divided into four brackets of four teams each. The teams compete in a single-elimination format, with the winner of each bracket advancing to the semifinals. The semifinal and Championship Games are played at the Sioux Falls Arena, in front of a sellout crowd of more than 10,000 fans.

The Sodak 16 Basketball Tournament is one of the most highly anticipated events in South Dakota each year, and it has become one of the state’s premier sporting events.

Tournament format

The format for the 2022 Sodak 16 basketball tournament will be as follows:

-There will be a field of 16 teams, which will be narrowed down to 8 after the first round of play.
-The 8 remaining teams will then compete in a bracketed tournament until a winner is crowned.
-The tournament will take place over a span of 4 days, from Thursday to Sunday.

Tournament prizes

The first place team in the 2022 Sodak 16 Basketball Tournament will receive a $10,000 cash prize, while the second place team will receive a $5,000 cash prize. In addition, each team that advances to the quarterfinals will receive a $1,000 cash prize.
