Tournament information

The 2022 Southland Basketball Tournament will be held from March 9-12 at the Merrell Center in Katy, Texas. This will be the first time the tournament has been held in Katy, and the second time it has been held in Texas (the other being San Antonio in 2020).

The tournament will feature all 13 Southland Conference schools, playing in a single-elimination format. The top four seeds will receive a bye to the quarterfinal round, while the remaining nine teams will play in the first round.

The teams will be seeded according to their conference record, with ties being broken by a variety of criteria. The full tournament schedule and bracket will be released closer to the event.

Tickets for the tournament will go on sale to the general public on February 1, 2022. All games will be broadcast on ESPN+.

The 2022 Southland Basketball Tournament will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Smoothie King Center This is the first time that the tournament has been held in New Orleans since 2008, when it was last held at the Lakefront Arena.

Tournament teams

The Southland Basketball Tournament is an annual event that takes place in the city of New Orleans, Louisiana.
