Press Conferences

Head Coach Chris Beard and the Texas Tech Red Raiders held their weekly press conference on Monday ahead of their opening game in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.

Beard started off the presser by chatting about his team’s recent success, which includes a win over then-No. 6 Kentucky.

“It’s been a great week,” Beard said. “Our guys have worked hard. They continue to get better every day, and we’re just really proud of their development.”

The Red Raiders will face No. 18 Purdue in the first round of the tournament on Wednesday, a team that Beard says will provide a tough test.

“Purdue is a very, very good basketball team ” Beard said. “They’re big, they’re strong, they’re physical, they play together. They have Great players at every position.”

Beard went on to say that he knows his team will have to be prepared for a battle in the Bahamas.

“We understand that it’s going to be a war Wednesday night,” Beard said. “Our guys are looking forward to the challenge.”
