Get to know the TNT hockey announcers as they call some of the biggest games in the NHL playoffs this year.

Who are the Tnt Hockey Announcers?

Ernest James “Ernie” Johnson Jr. (born August 7, 1956) is an American sportscaster for Turner Sports and CBS Sports Johnson is the lead television voice for Atlanta Hawks basketball, Major League Baseball on TBS and NFL on CBS. He also serves as a studio host for various events including the National Basketball Association (NBA) on TNT, NASCAR on TNT and PGA Tour on TNT.

Johnson was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He played high school baseball and basketball, but his true passion lay in fishing. Johnson enrolled at the University of Georgia where he continued to play baseball while serving as sports director of student radio station WUOG-FM. He eventually changed his major from graphic arts to communications. While attending college, Johnson worked part-time as a news director at WGST-AM in Atlanta.

What are their backgrounds?

Tnt is proud to introduce their new team of Hockey announcers. Here is a brief background on each of them.

Joe Micheletti: Joe Micheletti, who most recently served as the television analyst for the New York Rangers on MSG Network, returns to Turner Sports as a game analyst for NHL on TNT Micheletti began his broadcasting career as an analyst on Ranger games during the 1988 Stanley Cup Playoffs, and he has been with MSG Network ever since. He has called several Stanley Cup Finals, including the Rangers’ victory in 1994.

Micheletti played 10 seasons of professional hockey including four in the NHL with the Colorado Rockies and St. Louis Blues He also represented Team USA at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, Austria.

Darren Pang: Darren Pang joins NHL on TNT as a game analyst after serving in the same role for NBC Sports’ coverage of the Stanley Cup playoffs and Stanley Cup Final last season. Pang also worked as an analyst for NBC’s coverage of hockey at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Pang spent parts of seven seasons in the NHL as a goaltender with the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues He also served as color analyst for the Blues from 2002-2010 and again from 2014-2017. In between his two stints with the Blues, Pang was an analyist for Phoenix Coyotes games on FOX Sports Arizona from 2010-2014.

How did they become Tnt Hockey Announcers?

TNT’s NHL studio team is made up of some of the most accomplished and respected broadcasters in sports television. Ernie Johnson Jr. has been with Turner Sports since 1989 and is one of the most well-known and popular broadcasters in the industry. He has won four Emmy Awards for his work as a studio host and play-by-play announcer.

Charles Barkley is one of the most decorated players in NBA history He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006. Barkley has been with Turner Sports since he retired from playing in 2000, and has won multiple Emmy Awards for his work as an analyst on TNT’s NBA coverage

Johnson and Barkley are joined by former NHL All-Star Keith Jones who has been with TNT since 2002, and former NHL goaltender Kevin Weekes, who joined TNT in 2009.

What is their job like?

Our job is to provide color commentary and analysis during Tnt hockey games We work in the booth with the play-by-play announcer, and we also have the opportunity to do interviews and field reporting during breaks in the action.

Our job is to make the broadcast as informative and entertaining as possible for the viewers at home. We have to know a lot about the game of hockey, but we also have to be able to tell stories and paint pictures with our words. It’s a challenging and rewarding job, and we love every minute of it!

What is the best part of their job?

To many, the best part of their job is getting to meet and interact with the players. For some, it’s the excitement of the game and the opportunity to be a part of something larger than themselves. And for others, it’s simply the love of the sport.

What is the worst part of their job?

The worst part of the job for most of the announcers is when a player gets seriously injured

What do they think of Tnt Hockey?

Tnt Hockey is happy to announce their new lineup of announcers for the upcoming season Meet the team:

play-by-play announcer Dave Maloney and color analyst Joe Micheletti.

“We’re very excited to be joining the Tnt Hockey family,” said Maloney. “It’s going to be a great season of hockey, and we can’t wait to call the action for the fans.”

“I’m really looking forward to working with Dave and giving the fans a Great Hockey experience,” added Micheletti. “Tnt Hockey is the best in the business, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”

What do they think of the NHL?

The National Hockey League or NHL, is the top professional Ice Hockey league in the world. It was founded in 1917, and today is made up of 30 teams from the United States and Canada. The Stanley Cup the most prestigious trophy in hockey, is awarded to the NHL Champion each year.

Many people think that the NHL is a tough and physical league, and that its players are some of the best athletes in the world. But what do the announcers think of the NHL? We sat down with a few of them to find out.

“I think the NHL is a great league,” said John Davidson an analyst for NBC Sports “It’s fast-paced and there’s a lot of skill involved. The players are some of the best athletes in the world.”

“I love hockey,” said Mike “Doc” Emrick, NBC’s lead play-by-play announcer for NHL games “I think it’s a great sport It’s exciting to watch, and there’s a lot of skill involved. The players are some of the best athletes in the world.”

“I think hockey is a great sport,” said Gord Miller, an analyst for TSN (Canada). “It’s exciting to watch, and there’s a lot of skill involved. The players are some of the best athletes in the world.”

What do they think of hockey fans?

We asked the Tnt hockey announcers what they thought of hockey fans and here’s what they had to say.

“They’re the best fans in the world. They’re passionate, they’re knowledgeable, and they’re just a lot of fun to be around.”

“They’re diehard, they love their team, and they’re just a lot of fun to watch.”

“I think hockey fans are some of the most dedicated and loyal fans in all of sports. They’re always there cheering on their team, no matter what the situation is.”

What advice do they have for aspiring announcers?

As the official voice of the Tampa Bay Lightning radio play-by-play announcer Dave Mishkin has some advice for aspiring hockey announcers: be prepared, be yourself and have fun.

“Do your homework,” Mishkin said. “Know as much as you can about the team, the league and the game. And be yourself. Don’t try to be someone you’re not. Be natural, be relaxed and have a good time.”

Mishkin’s partner on the Lightning radio network color analyst Phil Esposito agrees. “Have a passion for the game,” Espo said. “If you don’t love hockey, it’s going to come across in your broadcast. Also, be prepared and do your homework. Know the game and know the teams.”
