Standings

Team Leaders
The Tufts baseball team will rely on a few Key Players to lead the way this season if they want to compete for a conference title
On the mound, senior captain Connor Billings will be the workhorse of the staff. The right-hander from Weston, Massachusetts was last year’s ace, leading the team in innings pitched (76.1), strikeouts (60), and opponent batting average (.236). junior southpaw Nick Lazzaro will also be called upon to eat up some innings this season. The Woburn, Massachusetts native was second on the team in strikeouts last year (52) and is coming off an impressive summer pitching in the Cape Cod baseball league
The Jumbos will also have a solid trio of arms at the back end of their bullpen in juniors Matt Sargeant and Mike Redmond, and sophomore Nate swallow. Sargeant (1.93 ERA, 4 SV) and Redmond (2.48 ERA, 2 SV) both had exceptional seasons out of the bullpen last year, while Swallow was lights out in a limited role, posting a 0.00 ERA in 8 appearances.
Offensively, the Jumbos will look to senior infielder Nate Eikhoff to lead the way. The Fairfax, Virginia native led Tufts with a .350 batting average last season and also paced the team in hits (49), doubles (11), home runs (3), walks (21), and on-base percentage (.438). Eikhoff will likely hit cleanup for the Jumbos this season behind junior outfielder Simon Perry, who batted .333 with 3 home runs and 18 RBIs last year. Senior first baseman Max Price will also provide some pop in the middle of Tufts’ lineup after hitting 4 home runs and driving in 24 runs last season.
