The University of Central Florida Baseball Team is excited to announce their roster for the upcoming season This year’s team is filled with skilled players who are ready to take their game to the next level. Below is the complete list of UCF baseball players for the 2021 season.

Pitchers:
-Aaron Haag: A senior from Oviedo, Florida, Haag is a right-handed pitcher who has been with the team for four years. He has a career ERA of 3.38 and has struck out 148 batters in 162 innings pitched
-Matthew Mika: A junior from Orlando, Florida, Mika is a left-handed pitcher who joined the team last year. In his first season with UCF, he had an ERA of 3.86 and struck out 61 batters in 66 innings pitched.
-Ryan Crile: A sophomore from Windermere, Florida, Crile is a right-handed pitcher who joined the team last year. In his first season with UCF, he had an ERA of 3.48 and struck out 50 batters in 47 innings pitched.
– Griffin Krieg: A junior from Orlando, Florida, Krieg is a right-handed pitcher who has been with the team for three years. He has a career ERA of 4.50 and has struck out 100 batters in 112 innings pitched.

Catchers:
-Brandon Bonilla: A junior from Kissimmee, Florida, Bonilla has been with the team for three years. He is aright-handed batter who hit .258 last season with one home run and 19 RBIs.
-Nicholas Daddio: A sophomore from Jupiter, Florida, Daddio joined the team last year as a walk-on player. He played in 22 games last season as a backup catcher and had 11 hits in 42 at bats for a batting average of .262.

The Infielders

The infielders are the backbone of any baseball team and the UCF Knights are no different. Head Coach Terry Rooney has put together a talented and hard-working group of young men who will man the diamond for the Black and Gold this season. Here is a look at the infielders who will be donning the Knight uniform in 2019.

First baseman Rylan Thomas comes to UCF from Orlando, Florida. The 6’4″, 225-pounder is a powerful hitter with a keen eye for the strike zone His defensively abilities are second to none, and he has a strong arm that will keep runners honest on the basepaths.

Second baseman Levi Usher is a key cog in UCF’s lineup from his leadoff spot. The junior from Oviedo, Florida is a gifted hitter with speed to burn. He has terrific range in the field, and his athleticism allows him to make plays that other second basemen simply cannot make.

Shortstop Matthew Mika will be counted on to provide stability up the middle for UCF this season. The Miami, Florida native is a superb Defensive Player with a plus arm. At the plate, he is a patient hitter who uses all fields and has a knack for getting on base.

Third baseman Brandon Bohning rounds out the infield for UCF. The Fort Lauderdale Florida native is one of the best pure hitters on the team. He has gap power and drives balls into the gaps with regularity. Bohning is also an excellent defender with Good footwork around the hot corner.

The Outfielders

The 2019 UCF baseball season is just around the corner, and the fans are anxious to see how the team will do this year. One big question on everyone’s mind is who will be playing in the outfield? Here is a look at the UCF baseball roster for the upcoming season

Outfielders:

The Pitchers

The UCF baseball team is set to have a great season this year. Here is a look at the pitchers that will be taking the mound for the Knights:

Junior right-hander Robby Howell will be the ace of the pitching staff. Howell had a great season last year, going 8-3 with a 3.38 ERA. He will look to build on that success this year.

Fellow right-hander Trent Thompson will also be in the rotation. Thompson had a solid season last year, going 7-5 with a 4.24 ERA. He will look to improve upon those numbers this season.

Left-hander Joe Sever will round out the rotation. Sever was injured for much of last season, but when he was healthy, he was very effective. In nine starts, he went 4-2 with a 3.86 ERA. The UCF Coaching Staff is hopeful that he can stay healthy and pitch to his potential this year.

Right-handers Clayton Rathbun and Garrett Anderson will headline the bullpen. Rathbun was outstanding last year, posting a 1.80 ERA in 25 appearances. Anderson was also very good, recording a 2.48 ERA in 27 appearances.
