The Avery Point Baseball Team is looking to make some noise in the AAC this season. The team is led by senior captain Joe Smith who is batting .308 with four home runs and 11 RBIs. The AAC

The American Athletic Conference (AAC) is comprised of ten schools that participate in NCAA Division I baseball. The conference was formed in 2013 with the split of the original Big East Conference and since then it has been home to some of the best teams in the country. The AAC is currently ranked as the second-best conference in college baseball behind only the SEC.

Avery Point is one of those teams. The Pointers are coming off a successful 2018 campaign in which they finished 32-22 overall and 16-13 in conference play They will look to build on that success this season with a strong mix of experienced players and talented newcomers.

They will take on UC Davis, Santa Clara University, and San Jose State University. The team will then return east for a six-game homestand. They will take on Sacred Art University Hartford, Fairleigh Dickinson University and Monmouth University The team will then close out the regular season with a three-game series on the road against Central Connecticut State University
