NBA uniforms for 2019: a complete guide
The NBA is back for the 2019-2020 Season and there have been some changes to uniforms around the league. Here is a complete guide to what every team will be wearing this season.
The biggest change this season is that the Charlotte Hornets will be donning a classic “throwback” uniform inspired by the original Hornets franchise that played in the NBA from 1988-2002. The franchise was then known as the New Orleans Pelicans from 2002-2013 before reverting back to the Hornets name in 2013. The new uniform features a teal and purple color scheme with the word “Hornets” across the chest.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have also unveiled a new uniform this season, inspired by the city’s flag. The black jerseys feature white and gold lettering with a black and white stripe down each side. The white home jerseys feature black and gold lettering with a white and black stripe down each side.
The Dallas Mavericks have tweaked their uniforms slightly for this season, most notably adding “Mavericks” across the chest of their white home jerseys. The road jerseys remain largely unchanged, except for a new “Dallas” wordmark across the chest.
The Indiana Pacers have made some small changes to their uniforms as well, adding an alternate orange jersey to their wardrobe. The other two jerseys remain largely unchanged, except for some slight tweaks to the wordmarks and logos on each one.
The Miami Heat have unveiled a new alternate red jersey this season which features a tonal graphic of palm trees on it. The other two jerseys in their rotation remain mostly unchanged, except for some small tweaks to the branding on each one.
One of the most notable changes this season belongs to the Minnesota Timberwolves who have completely rebranded themselves with new logos and uniforms (including an alternate “City Edition” jersey). The primary home and away jerseys are white and blue respectively, while the City Edition Jersey is black with stylish metallic accents.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have made some small changes to their uniforms as well, including adding an alternate navy blue jersey to their wardrobe. The other two jerseys remain largely unchanged from last season, except for some small tweaks to the branding on each one.
The Portland Trail Blazers are also debuting an alternate red jersey this season which features gold striping down each side (a nod tothe team’s 1977 NBA Championship team). The other two jerseys in their rotation remain mostly unchanged from last year, except for some small tweaks to the branding on each one.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) is a men’s professional basketball league in North America composed of 30 teams (29 in the United States and 1 in Canada). It is widely considered to be the premier men’s professional Basketball league in the world.
The NBA Uniforms for 2019 are some of the best ever. They combine classic looks with modern designs. The best throwback uniforms are those of the Chicago Bulls Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics
The worst throwback NBA uniforms for 2019
It’s undeniable that some of the NBA’s best uniforms are the throwbacks that various teams wear on special nights during the season. However, not every team’s throwback uniform is a winner. In fact, some of them are downright ugly. Here are the five Worst NBA throwback uniforms for 2019.
1. Los Angeles Clippers These red, white, and blue uniforms are an eyesore. They’re too busy and there’s too much going on with the stripes and patterns.
2. Charlotte Hornets The Hornets’ teal and purple throwbacks are an acquired taste. Some people love them, but others find them to be garish and over-the-top.
3. New York Knicks The Knicks’ orange and blue throwbacks are pretty hideous. They look like something a High School team would wear.
4. Cleveland Cavaliers The Cavaliers’ wine and gold throwbacks are pretty ugly, too. They look dated and outdated, and they’re not very stylish or cool.
5. Milwaukee Bucks The Bucks’ green and red throwbacks are just plain bad. They look like pajamas, and they don’t do anything to represent the team or the city of Milwaukee in a good way.
The best NBA All-Star uniforms for 2019
The NBA All-Star game is always one of the most highly anticipated events of the year, and part of the reason why is because of the uniforms. Every year, the league’s best players suit up in flashy and unique uniforms, and this year is no different. Here are some of the best uniforms that will be on display during this year’s All-Star Game
The first uniform is from the team representing Team LeBron. They will be wearing white uniforms with blue and gold accents. The design features a blue stripe down the middle of the jersey, with a gold ‘L’ logo on the left chest. The shorts are also white, with blue and gold accents.
Next up is the uniform for Team Giannis This uniform is predominantly black, with red and white accents. The jersey features a red stripe down the middle, with a white ‘G’ logo on the left chest. The shorts are also black, with red and white accents.
Last but not least is the uniform for the reserved players. This uniform is also predominantly black, but with silver accents instead of red. The design features a silver stripe down the middle of the jersey, with a black ‘R’ logo on the left chest representing “reserve”. The shorts are also black, with silver accents.
The worst NBA All-Star uniforms for 2019
For the 2019 All-Star Game the NBA seems to have outdone itself with some truly terrible uniforms. Here are the three worst offenders:
1. The Charlotte Hornets’ “gradient” uniforms are an eyesore. The team’s primary colors are currently teal and purple, so why they felt the need to add black and grey into the mix is anyone’s guess.
2. The Miami Heat’s “Miami Vice”-inspired uniforms are, unfortunately, a little too on-the-nose. The team has never been shy about its love for the ’80s TV show, but these uniforms take things too far.
3. Lastly, the Minnesota Timberwolves’ camouflage uniforms are just plain ugly. There’s nothing wrong with a team wanting to show its support for the military, but these uniforms fail to make any sort of fashion statement
The best NBA Christmas Day uniforms for 2019
Christmas Day in the NBA is always special. The league’s best teams and players take the court in some of the most iconic arenas in the country, and they do so wearing some of the most special uniforms in their collection. This year is no different, as a number of teams will be trotting out special Christmas Day uniforms for their games on December 25.
Here’s a look at the best NBA Christmas Day uniforms for 2019:
Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers will be sporting a special “City Edition” uniform for their Christmas Day game against the Clippers. The uniform is a throwback to the jerseys worn by the Lakers during their “Showtime” era of the 1980s, and it features a gold-and-purple color scheme with “LA” across the chest.
Boston Celtics
The Celtics will also be debuting a new “City Edition” uniform for their Christmas day game against the Knicks. The uniform is inspired by Boston’s iconic “Freedom Trail,” and it features a black-and-red color scheme with white piping and trim. The word “Celtics” is emblazoned across the chest in white lettering, while the numbers on the back are done in green.
Milwaukee Bucks
The Bucks will be wearing their regular road uniforms for their Christmas Day game against the Sixers, but they’ll have a special twist: instead of their usual green-and-cream color scheme, the Bucks’ jerseys will feature an all-red design with cream lettering. It’s a sharp look that should make Milwaukee one of the best-dressed teams on Christmas Day.
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors’ Christmas Day uniform is pretty much business as usual, as they’ll be wearing their standard road blue jerseys with “Golden State” across the chest. However, there are two things that make this jersey special: first, it features a gold stripe down each side, and second, it has Santa Claus holding a basketball instead of a star above the Warriors’ logo on the front. It’s a small change, but it’s enough to make this jersey stand out from Golden State’s usual fare.
