Wayne State Baseball is a NCAA Division II college baseball team. The Wayne State Warriors are members of the Midwest collegiate athletic conference and play their home games at Banner Hall, located on the campus of Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

The Wayne State Warriors are coached by Mike Bream. He is in his 29th season as the Head Coach of the Wayne State baseball team The program has reached the NCAA Division II playoffs ten times under his tenure, most recently in 2019. They have won two conference championships (1991 & 2001) and have made one appearance in the College World Series (2001).

The Wayne State baseball schedule is typically released in late February or early March. The team plays its home games at historic Haymarket Park located just a few blocks from campus. Wayne State typically plays around 30 home games each season.

While most of the games are against conference opponents, the schedule also features several non-conference games. These are usually against schools in Michigan or neighboring states. In recent years Wayne State has also played teams from across the country, including UCLA and San Diego State

Wayne State competes in the Midwest Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) against some of the toughest Division II opponents in the country. The Warriors have long-standing rivalries with a few of their conference foes, most notably the University of Sioux Falls Cougars, the Concordia University Irvine Eagles, and the Dixie State University Trailblazers. These match-ups are always exciting for both teams and fans, as they are typically very close games with a lot on the line.

Wayne State’s biggest rivals are undoubtedly the Cougars of Sioux Falls The two teams have been meeting on the diamond since Wayne State joined the MIAC in 2012, and they have quickly developed a healthy dislike for one another. The Cougars have had the better of Wayne State in recent years but the Warriors always give them a good fight. The two teams met in Sioux Falls last season in what was one of the most highly-anticipated series of the year. The Warriors managed to take one game from their rivals, but ultimately fell short in the series.

This season, Wayne State will be looking to turn things around against their top rivals. The Warriors will host Sioux Falls for a three-game series early in conference play and they will be looking to take all three games from their longtime foe. Concordia Irvine will also travel to Detroit for a three-game set later in the season, and Wayne State will no doubt be aiming to exact some revenge on the Eagles after Concordia swept them last year.

The Warriors will also have their sights set on taking down Dixie State in what has quickly become one ofthe best rivalries in Division II baseball Wayne State won four out of five games against Dixie last season, but they were unable to come away with a series victory. This year, however, Wayne State will have home field advantage when they take on Dixie for what should be another thrilling series between two top contenders in Division II baseball.
