Wooster baseball has a rich tradition of excellence dating back to the early days of the program. The Scots have won 12 conference championships and made nine appearances in the NCAA Division III World Series including a national runner-up finish in 2009.

The Scots have produced 37 All-Americans, including three-time first team selection Matt LaPlante, who was named the Division III Player of the Year in 2009. Wooster has also had eight Academic All-Americans, including LaPlante and current Head Coach Tim Pettorini.

Pettorini took over the Wooster program in 2006 and has continued the tradition of excellence, leading the Scots to 10 straight 20-win seasons, five conference championships, and four trips to the NCAA Division III World Series Under his tutelage, Wooster has had 26 All-America selections and six Academic All-Americans.

While the team’s conference and regional affiliations have changed over the years, the Wooster baseball program has remained true to its roots, always striving for excellence on the field. The team’s current conference affiliation is with the NCAA Division III Midwest Athletic Conference (MAC).

The MAC is made up of ten schools, nine of which are located in Ohio. The MAC is widely considered one of the best baseball conferences in Division III and Wooster has been a perennial contender since joining the conference in 1992. In fact, since 1993 the team has made it to the NCAA Division III playoffs thirteen times, winning the Regional title four times and advancing to the College World Series twice.

Today, under the direction of head coach Tim Pettorini, Wooster Baseball is as strong as ever. The team’s home games are played at Art Murray Field, a state-of-the-art facility that opened in 2002. Murray Field has a seating capacity of 500 and features a press box, concession stand and ample parking.
