The Wright State Raiders baseball team is coached by Rob Cooper, who has led the team to three Horizon League championships in his six years at the helm. The Raiders have also made three appearances in the NCAA tournament under Cooper’s leadership.

Wright State baseball began in 1967 as a Division II program. The team had limited success in its early years, but began to find more success after moving to Division I in 1985. The team made its first NCAA tournament appearance in 1987 and has made nine total appearances since then.

The 2007 season was arguably the best in Wright State baseball history. The team went 50-16 overall and won the Horizon League tournament to clinch a spot in the NCAA tournament They went on to win their regional and Super Regional games to advance to the College World Series for the first time ever. They ultimately lost to eventual National Champion Oregon State but the 2007 season was a pivotal moment for Wright State baseball

The team has continued to find success since 2007, winning the Horizon League regular season title in 2019 with a 41-18 record. They lost in the Horizon League Tournament Championship game but still earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament They ultimately lost their first game against Indiana State but it was another strong season for Wright State baseball

The $3 million project was made possible thanks to generous donations from Bill and Peggy Smith, as well as support from the Wright State Board of Trustees.

The new Press Box gives Wright State University baseball one of the best views in all of college baseball and the renovations have helped to create an even more electric atmosphere for home games

The increased seating capacity means that more fans than ever before can come out to support the team, and the new AstroTurf playing surface is safer and more durable than the previous natural grass field.

All of these upgrades have helped to make Wright State University baseball one of the best programs in the country.
