The Mountaineers’ Postseason Outlook

It’s been an up and down season for the Mountaineers, but with a few key wins in the final stretch, they’ve positioned themselves well for a deep postseason run. Here’s a look at their five most likely postseason opponents, as well as a brief overview of each team.

5) Oklahoma Sooners
The Sooners have had a rollercoaster of a season, with big wins and tough losses coming in equal measure. They’re a dangerous team that could catch fire at any moment, but they’ll need to be at their best to get past the Mountaineers.

4) Texas Longhorns
The Longhorns have been one of the most consistent teams in the conference all season long and they’ll be looking to make a statement in the postseason. They don’t have any easy road ahead of them if they want to make it to the Championship game but they have the talent to get there.

3) Kansas Jayhawks
The Jayhawks started off the season hot, but they’ve cooled off recently and will need to regain their form if they want to make a deep run in March. They have the personnel to make noise in the postseason, but it remains to be seen if they can put it all together.

2) West Virginia Mountaineers
The Mountaineers are coming into the postseason as one of the hottest teams in the conference, having won 10 of their last 12 games. They have all the pieces necessary for a deep run, and they’ll be looking to prove that they can hang with the best teams in the country.

1) Baylor Bears
The Bears have been dominant all season long and are widely considered to be one of the favorites to win the National Championship They have all the tools necessary to make a run at history, and they’ll be looking to cement their place as one of college basketball’s all-time great teams.
