LSUS Basketball Roster for the Upcoming Season

The official LSUS basketball roster for the upcoming season has been released. Check out who will be suiting up for the Pilots this year!

LSUS Men’s Basketball Roster

The LSUS men’s basketball team will have a very different look this upcoming season as the roster has undergone some significant changes. Let’s take a look at the players who will be suiting up for the Pilots this year.

Gone are last year’s leading scorer Nate Frye and rebounder Austin Allen, as well as key reserve players Malik Metoyer and Dee Sterling. In their place are a host of new faces, including junior college transfers Ja’Michael Brown and Marcus Davenport, and freshman big man Emmanuel Egunjobi.

The Pilots will also have a new Head Coach at the helm, as Mike Davenport takes over for Jeff Adkinson. Davenport is a former LSUS player and Assistant Coach and he will be looking to lead the Pilots to their first winning season since 2014-15.

The LSUS Pilots women’s Basketball team is set to begin their season soon, and here is their roster for the upcoming season The roster is made up of 12 student-athletes, all of whom are looking to help lead the team to success this year.

The LSUS Pilots men’s basketball team will begin their 2019-20 season on Tuesday, November 5th at home against Vandebilt Catholic. The team will look to build on their success from last season where they went 19-11 and reached the second round of the NAIA tournament. Here is the full schedule for the upcoming season

LSUS Women’s Basketball Schedule

The LSUS Pilots women’s Basketball team will begin their 2018-2019 season on the road against the University of Oklahoma on November 7th. They will then travel to take on the University of Texas at El Paso on November 9th before returning home to Shreveport to host Loyola University New Orleans on November 11th.

The team’s non-Conference Schedule also includes games against Kansas State Ole Miss Nicholls State Texas A&M Corpus Christi Sam Houston State and Stephen F. Austin.

In conference play the Pilots will face off against Bossier Parish Community College Centenary College of Louisiana, Dillard University, Grambling State University Louisiana College, Louisiana Tech University, McNeese State University Mississippi Valley State University Western State University Southern University, and Xavier University of Louisiana.

LSUS Men’s Basketball Standings

The LSUS Pilots men’s basketball team represents Loyola University Shreveport in Shreveport, Louisiana. The school’s team currently competes in the Southern States Athletic Conference

During the 18-19 season the Pilots finished the regular season with an overall record of 21-9 and a conference record of 13-5. They earned the #2 seed in the SSAC Tournament and advanced to the semifinal round before being defeated by eventual tournament champion Faulkner University.

The Pilots will return several Key Players from last year’s team, including leading scorer Jordan Hall (17.4 ppg) and leading rebounder Kevin Spears (9.1 rpg).

As of October 29, 2018, the LSUS women’s basketball team is 6-0. They have four returning starters from last year’s team. The team is coached by Lisa Cutchins and her assistant coach is Bernard Scott.
