5-Star Maryland Basketball Recruit

The Maryland Terrapins have landed a 5-star recruit for the 2019-2020 season. Jahmir Young, a 6’4″ guard from Baltimore, is rated as the #5 player in the country according to ESPN. Young is a dynamic scorer and playmaker who should make an immediate impact for the Terps.

4-Star Maryland Basketball Recruit

Four-star shooting guard Hakim Hart has Maryland in his top five, announced Monday on Twitter.

The 6-foot-5, 190-pound recruit from Lower Merion High School in Ardmore, Pennsylvania is ranked the No. 80 player in the 2019 Recruiting Class by 247Sports Composite. He’s also ranked the No. 14 shooting guard and No. 3 player out of Pennsylvania.

Hart took an official visit to Maryland Oct. 12-14 and his other top schools include Virginia Tech TCU, Iowa State and Florida State

3-Star Maryland basketball Recruit

Jalen Smith, a 6-foot-10 forward from Mount St. Joseph in Baltimore, is the only three-star recruit in the class.

2-Star Maryland basketball Recruit

Maryland Basketball has pulled in a 2-star recruit for the 2019-2020 season.

Donta Scott, a 6-7 small forward from Imhotep Charter in Philadelphia, committed to the Terps on Tuesday. He also held offers from Temple, La Salle, and St. Joseph’s.

1-Star Maryland Basketball Recruit

One-star small forward Jalen Smith is the only recruit Maryland basketball has landed so far for the 2019-2020 season. The 6’7”, 200lbs 18-year-old from Baltimore, MD decommitted from Ohio State on June 18th.

Unranked Maryland Basketball Recruit

An unranked Maryland basketball recruit has recently emerged as a top target for the Terps. Darryl Morsell, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Mount Saint Joseph high school in Baltimore, is currently being recruited by a number of top programs including Maryland.

Morsell is considered one of the best shooters in the country, and he would be a welcomed addition to the Terps’ backcourt. While he is not ranked by any major recruiting service, he has garnered interest from some of the biggest programs in the country.

Maryland will have to battle it out with a number of other schools for Morsell’s services, but they are definitely in the mix. We will continue to follow his recruitment closely and update you as more information becomes available.

As the University of Maryland men’s Basketball team looks to rebound from a disappointing 18-19 season Head Coach Mark Turgeon has his sights set on a strong recruiting class for the 2019-2020 campaign.

Turgeon and his staff have already secured commitments from four-star point guard Hakim Hart and three-star center Qudus Wahab. They are also in the mix for several other highly touted prospects, including five-star power forward Jalen Johnson five-star shooting guard Josiah James and five-star Small Forward Matthew Hurt

Maryland Basketball is currently ranked #3 in the nation and they are looking to continue their success next season. Here are some of the top recruits that they are targeting for the 2019-2020 season.

5-star center James Wiseman is the number one recruit in the nation and Maryland is one of his top schools. He is 6’11” and 225 pounds and he is from Memphis, Tennessee. He is a very versatile player and he would be a great addition to the team.

4-star point guard Cole Anthony is another top recruit that Maryland is targeting. He is 6’2” and 175 pounds and he is from New York, New York. He is a very good shooter and he would be a great addition to the team.

4-star small forward Jermaine Samuels is another top recruit that Maryland is targeting. He is 6’7” and 210 pounds and he is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a very Athletic player and he would be a great addition to the team.

The Maryland Terrapins men’s basketball team is looking to add some talented recruits to their roster for the 2019-2020 season. The team has already landed a few big names, but they are still looking for more players who can help them compete at the highest level

Some of the recruits who have already committed to play for Maryland next season include:

• A.J. Turner – A 6’7″ small forward from Washington, D.C., Turner is considered one of the Top Players in his class. He’s a very athletic player who can score points in a variety of ways.

• Makhi Mitchell – A 6’10” power forward from Baltimore, Mitchell is a strong rebounder and shot blocker. He’s also a very good finisher around the basket.

• Aaron Wiggins – A 6’6″ shooting guard from Hyattsville, Wiggins is a versatile player who can score from anywhere on the court. He’s an excellent three-point shooter and has the ability to take over a game offensively.

The Terps are still in the running for some other top recruits including:

• Jalen Smith – A 6’10” power forward from Mount Saint Joseph high school in Baltimore, Smith is one of the top players in the country. He’s a very athletic big man who can run the court well and finish above the rim.

• Noah Locke – A 6’3″ shooting guard from IMG Academy in Florida, Locke is another excellent three-point shooter. He’s also a very good slasher and can get to the basket with ease.

The Maryland Basketball team is looking to put together another highly successful season and these recruits will be key in helping them achieve that goal.
