The team plays their home games at Alumni Arena on the university’s Amherst campus.
The Bulls have appeared in one NCAA tournament Their lone appearance came in 2015, when they defeated West Virginia in the First Four before losing to Kentucky in the Round of 64.

The Starting Five
The Buffalo men’s Basketball team is made up of some very talented individuals. This year, the team is led by their starting five:
Sophomore guard Lamonte Bearden is the floor general for the Bulls. He hails from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was named to the freshman All-MAC team last season. Bearden averaged 10 points per game and four assists per game last season.
Junior forward Nick Perkins is a big body in the paint. Perkins is from Midwest, Ohio and was also named to the freshman All-MAC team last season. Perkins averaged nine points per game and five rebounds per game last season.
Senior forward Blake Hamilton is the elder statesman of the group. Hamilton is from San Bernardino, California and was named second team All-MAC last season. Hamilton averaged 15 points per game and seven rebounds per game last season.
Sophomore guard CJ Massinburg is a dangerous shooter from beyond the arc. Massinburg is from Dallas, Texas and was named Honorable Mention All-MAC last season. Massinburg averaged 12 points per game and six rebounds per game last season.
Redshirt junior guard/forward Davonta Jordan rounds out the starting five. Jordan missed all of last season with an injury but he is healthy and ready to go this year. Jordan hails from Detroit, Michigan and will be a big presence on both ends of the floor for the Bulls this season.
The Bench
The BuffaloBench is a group of players that provide energy and relief to the starting five players. The bench usually consists of players who are not starters but are still key contributors to the team.
The Coaching Staff
The Coaching Staff for the Buffalo basketball team is led by Head Coach Nate Oats Oats has been with the team since 2015 and has led them to two NCAA Tournament appearances. assistant coaches include Joe Crawford Bryan Hodgson, and Mark Lance.
The Fans
The fans are the backbone of the Buffalo Basketball team They are the ones who show up to games, cheer loudly, and support the team through thick and thin. They are also the ones who buy tickets jerseys, and other merchandise. Without the fans, the team would be nothing.
The fans come in all shapes and sizes, but they all share one common bond: their love for the Buffalo basketball team Whether they are young or old, male or female, from Buffalo or another city, they all come together to support their team.
Some of the most diehard fans can be found in the student section at home games These students paint their faces, wear outlandish costumes, and chant and sing throughout the entire game. They are truly a sight to behold.
