Head Coach Tonya Balthazar, has led the team to two State Championships and three conference championships in her five years at the helm. The team is made up of mostly seniors, with a few juniors and sophomores sprinkled in. These girls have been playing together since they were in elementary school and it shows on the court. They are unselfish and know how to play as a team. The Lady Rebels are currently 23-0 and ranked #1 in the state. If you have a chance to see them play, do not miss it!

The McKenzie Lady Rebels basketball team is a force to be reckoned with. With a current record of 21-1, the team is dominating their competition. head coach Rick Insell, has led the team to four straight state championships and five overall. The team is made up of mostly seniors, who have been playing together for four years. With only one loss this season, the team is looking to make a run at the state championship once again. The Lady Rebels are a must see if you are a fan of basketball.

The McKenzie Lady Rebels are a must watch this Basketball season The team is currently 16-0 and ranked 9th in the state. The reason for their success? Head Coach Charles girls have bought in and are willing to do whatever it takes to win ball games.
“Our girls have been great all season long They’ve worked extremely hard and it’s paying off,” said Coach Charles. “They’re sacrificing their bodies, taking charges, diving on the floor for loose balls. You name it, they’re doing it.”
The Lady Rebels are led by a trio of talented seniors. Mackenzie Whitman, Emily Charles, and Sarah Jones have all been starting since their freshman year and have improved each season. They’ll need to be at their best if the team wants to make a deep run in the playoffs.
“We’re going to enjoy this ride as long as we can,” said Coach Charles. “But we know there’s still a lot of basketball left to be played.”

junior post player Maci Boyd is a two-time All-District selection and was named District Defensive Player of the Year last season. Boyd is a tall, physical presence in the paint who averaged nine points and eight rebounds per game last season.
junior shooting guard Hannah Thompson is one of the best 3-point shooters in the state. She averaged 12 points per game last season and hit 42 percent of her 3-point attempts.

A Look Back
The McKenzie Lady Rebels basketball team is one of the most successful High School Basketball teams in Oregon. Under the guidance of Coach Julie Bennett, the team has captured four State Championships in the last six years. The Lady Rebels are currently ranked No. 1 in the state and are undefeated in league play.
Bennett, who has been at the helm of the program for 11 years, has compiled a 293-41 record during her tenure. She has been named Coach of the Year four times by her peers and was inducted into the Oregon basketball Hall of Fame in 2016.
The Lady Rebels have a deep and talented roster that features six seniors, four juniors, three sophomores, and two freshmen. Led by Megan Mitchell (19.1 ppg) and Brittany Kenney (17.4 ppg), the team averages 71 Points per game while allowing just 39 points per game
