The Showtime Lakers of the 1980’s were a high flying team that was must see TV. They won 5 championships with Hall of Famers Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar leading the way. They were considered one of the best teams ever assembled until they were eclipsed by the Bulls a few years later.

The San Antonio Spurs of the late 1990’s and early 2000’s were a model of consistency. Led by Tim Duncan and Gregg Popovich they won 5 championships in 15 years and only missed the playoffs 3 times during that span. They are often overshadowed by other teams on this list but are definitely one of the best ever.
