In part two of our series on the Top Five NBA trios of all time, we take a look at the teams that just missed the cut. These are the honorable mentions, the teams that didn’t quite make it but are still worth mentioning.
5. Los Angeles Lakers Kobe Bryant Shaquille O’Neal, Karl Malone
The LA Lakers of the early 2000s were one of the most dominant teams in NBA history They won three consecutive championships from 2000 to 2002, and they could have easily won more if not for injuries. Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’ Neal were two of the best players in the league, and they were supported by Karl Malone one of the greatest power forwards of all time.

The Boston Celtics of the 1950s and 1960s were one of the most dominant teams in NBA history They won eight consecutive championships from 1959 to 1966, and they could have easily won more if not for injuries. Bill Russell is widely considered to be one of the greatest players of all time, and he was supported by Bob Cousy and Sam Jones two of the best players in their respective positions.

The Golden State Warriors of today are one of the most dominant teams in NBA history They have won three championships in four years from 2015 to 2018, and they could easily win more if not for injuries. Stephen Curry is widely considered to be one of the best shooters of all time, and he is supported by Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant two players who are also considered to be among the best shooters in their respective positions.

We’re down to the final installment of our series on the best NBA trios of all time! In case you missed it, be sure to check out Part 1 and Part 2. Now, without further ado, here are the last two entries on our list.
5. Magic Johnson Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and James Worthy (Los Angeles Lakers)
This trio was produced by the greatest Draft Class in NBA history The Lakers selected Magic Johnson with the first overall pick in 1979, then landed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (who had been drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks one year earlier) in a trade. James Worthy rounded out the group when he was drafted first overall in 1982.
This trio helped lead the Lakers to nine trips to the NBA Finals and four championships. Johnson was a three-time MVP and a member of the All-NBA First Team nine times; Abdul-Jabbar was a six-time MVP and a 14-time member of the All-NBA First Team; Worthy was named Finals MVP in 1988 and was a seven-time member of the All-NBA Second Team
4. Tim Duncan Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker (San Antonio Spurs)
This trio formed in 2002 when the Spurs drafted Tony Parker with the 28th pick in the NBA draft Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili were already established stars by that point — Duncan had been named Rookie of the Year in 1998 and Ginobili had been drafted 57th overall in 1999 — but together, they formed one of the most dominant trios in NBA history
Over the course of their careers, these three players have helped lead the Spurs to five trips to the NBA Finals and four championships. They’ve also each been named Finals MVP once: Duncan in 1999 and 2003, Ginobili in 2005, and Parker in 2007. In addition, all three players have been named to numerous All-Star teams and All-NBA teams throughout their careers.

The following is the fourth and final installment of a series detailing the top 5 NBA trios of all time. In this final piece, we’ll be looking at the trio of Kobe Bryant Shaquille O’Neal, and Derek Fisher – otherwise known as the “Big Three” of the Los Angeles Lakers
Bryant, O’Neal, and Fisher were teammates on the Lakers from 1996 to 2004, winning three NBA championships together in 2000, 2001, and 2002. During their time as teammates, the three players combined for nine NBA All-Star game appearances.
Bryant is widely considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time and is the Lakers’ All-time leading scorer. O’Neal is one of the most dominant big men in NBA history and was named one of the league’s 50 greatest players in 1996. Fisher was a key contributor to the Lakers’ success during his time with the team and hit some of the most clutch shots in franchise history.

The Top 5 NBA Trios of All Time: Part 7
The top five NBA trios of all time continue with the Boston Celtics’ big three of the early 21st century.
This group was spearheaded by two future Hall of Famers in Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce and one player who may have been even better than those two, if not for injuries, in Ray Allen
The Celtics acquired Garnett and Allen via trade prior to the 2007-2008 season. They immediately jelled and went on to win 66 games before taking down Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals.
In the NBA Finals they met a Los Angeles Lakers team that featured Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol The Celtics won in six games, giving them their first championship since 1986.
Garnett, Pierce, and Allen would go on to play together for five seasons. They made it back to the Finals in 2010, but this time they lost to the Lakers in seven games.

9. Scottie Pippen Dennis Rodman and Michael Jordan (Chicago Bulls)
This trio was the second unit of the Chicago Bulls’ dynasty in the 1990s. They were nicknamed the “Three-Headed Monster” because of their defensive prowess. The three players complement each other perfectly. Pippen is a versatile player who canguard all five positions, Rodman is a rebounding machine and Jordan is the greatest player of all time. They won three championships together.
10. Rajon Rondo Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett (Boston Celtics)
This trio was the core of the Boston Celtics’ team that won the NBA Championship in 2008. They were nicknamed the “Big Three” because they were all All-Stars. Garnett is a defensive star, Pierce is a scoring machine and Rondo is a talented playmaker. They helped lead the Celtics to one of the best seasons in franchise history.

The Boston Celtics are arguably the most successful Sports Franchise of all time. Not only have they won the most championships in NBA History but they also have had some of the best players to ever play the game One of the reasons for their success is that they have had many Great players play for them throughout their history.
In this article, we will be counting down the top 5 NBA trios of all time. A trio is defined as three players who played together for at least two seasons and were considered to be the core of the team. We will be ranking them based on their success while playing together, as well as their individual success.
5. Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen (2007-2013)
This trio was together for six seasons and won one championship together. They were also named to a combined 12 All-Star teams and 11 All-NBA Teams while they re Playing together.
4. Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher (1999-2004)
This trio was together for five seasons and won three championships together. They were also named to a combined 14 All-Star teams and 12 All-NBA teams while they were playing together.
3. Lebron James Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh (2010-2014)
This trio was together for four seasons and won two championships together. They were also named to a combined 12 All-Star teams and 10 All-NBA teams while they were playing together.
The Top 5 NBA Trios of All Time: Part 10
In today’s edition of the top 5 NBA trios of all time, we will be looking at the San Antonio Spurs’ big three of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker. This trio helped lead the Spurs to 4 NBA titles in a span of 9 seasons from 2003 to 2014.
Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker were all drafted by the Spurs and developed into superstars under Head Coach Gregg Popovich Duncan is a 2-time NBA MVP and a 3-time NBA Finals MVP. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest Power Forwards of all time. Ginobili is a 2-time NBA All-Star and was named the sixth man of the Year in 2008. Parker is a 6-Ime Nba All-Star and was named the Finals MVP in 2007.
This trio was incredibly successful, winning 4 NBA titles in 9 seasons together. They were also very durable, with all 3 players appearing in at least 80% of the Spurs’ games over that span. Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker are true legends of the game and will go down as one of the greatest trios in NBA history
