The Black Panther: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the most electrifying players in the NBA. The Greek Freak is a 6’11” point forward for the Milwaukee Bucks who can do it all on the court. He’s a two-time NBA All-Star and was named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player in 2019. But what makes Giannis so special?
First, let’s start with his size. At 6’11”, Giannis is tall for an NBA player but he has the wingspan of a much taller man. His arms are so long that he can palm the ball like a grapefruit. This gives him a huge advantage when shooting over smaller defenders. Secondly, Giannis is incredibly athletic. He has a 42-inch vertical leap and can run the length of the court in just a few strides. This combination of size and speed makes him nearly impossible to guard.
But perhaps the most impressive thing about Giannis is his all-around game. He’s not just a dunker or a three-point shooter. He can do it all: shoot, pass, rebound, block shots and steal the ball In fact, he’s one of only three players in NBA history to average at least 19 points, eight rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block per game in a season (the other two are Michael Jordan and Julius Erving). That’s pretty impressive company!
So what does the future hold for Giannis? It’s hard to say. But one thing is for sure: he’s one of the most exciting players in the NBA today and someone you won’t want to miss watching!
