The Coaches
The Western Michigan Coaching Staff is led by Head Coach Steve Hawkins. Hawkins is in his 20th season at the helm of the Broncos, and has led the team to six NCAA tournament appearances. Associate head coach William Hoyt is in his 15th season with the team, while assistant coaches Ed Hephner and Mike Vande Hoef round out the staff.
The Players
The Western Michigan men’s basketball team is composed of 13 talented players. This includes two seniors, four juniors, five sophomores, and two freshmen. The team trains hard under the leadership of Head Coach Steve Hawkins and Assistant coaches Clayton Bates and Mike Featherstone.
The seniors on the team are guard Koran Maddox and forward Seth Dugan. Both Maddox and Dugan have played key roles on the team throughout their time at Western Michigan As leaders, they provide valuable experience and guidance to the younger players.
The junior class is made up of guards Bryce Moore, Jayvon Graves, Dexter Williams, and Greg Lee These players have contributed significantly to the team’s success over the past few years and are expected to continue to be major contributors in the years to come.
The sophomores include guard Michael Flowers, forward Malik Campbell, center D’Wan Mathis, forward Josh Davis, and guard Jared Printy. These players showed great promise as freshmen last year and are expected to make an even bigger impact this season.
The two freshmen on the team are forward Emmanuel Gbolahan and guard Luke Choi. Both Gbolahan and Choi come to Western Michigan with high expectations from Coach Hawkins. They will look to make an immediate impact on the court as they begin their collegiate careers.
This is a talented group of young men who are committed to representing Western Michigan University with distinction both on and off the court
The Schedule
The 2019-2020 season is upon us and the WMU Bronco’s Men’s basketball team is off to a great start. So far they have played 5 games, winning 4 of them. conference play has not yet begun, but the team is 12-3 overall and 5-0 at home. They will look to continue their success as conference play begins this winter.

The Fans

The Arena
Western Michigan University’s basketball team plays its home games at University Arena in Read Fieldhouse. The arena, which opened in 1957, has a seating capacity of 5,421.
The History
The Western Michigan University men’s Basketball team has a long and storied history. The Broncos have made the NCAA Tournament 6 times, most recently in 2014. They have also won the Mid-American Conference regular season title 3 times and the MAC Tournament twice. The team plays its home games at the University Arena in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The Broncos have had many Great players over the years. Some of the most notable include future NBA players Shawn Respert and Earl Boykins. Current Head coach Steve Hawkins has been at the helm since 2001 and has led the team to much success.
