Chad Patrick: A baseball journey – Early Life and Career

Chad Michael Patrick was born on September 27, 1989, in Belleville, Illinois, to parents Mike and Kim Patrick. Chad began playing baseball at a very young age and his talents were quickly recognized by those around him. He played little League Baseball for the Belleville YMCA team and then went on to play for the Belleville East High School team. During his time at Belleville East high school he was named an All-State player in 2007 and 2008. In 2009, he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 25th round of the Major League Baseball draft. However, he did not sign with the Royals and instead chose to play college baseball for Trinity University.

At Trinity University, Chad continued to excel on the baseball field He was named a First Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper in 2010 and 2011. In 2012, he was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the fourth round of the Major League Baseball draft and he chose to sign with them. He began his professional career that same year with the Lowell Spinners, a minor league affiliate of the Red Sox

Chad continued to move up through the Minor League ranks over the next few years before making his Major League debut on September 1, 2015. He appeared in four games for the Red Sox that September and then spent most of the 2016 season with their Triple-A affiliate, the Pawtucket Red Sox He made one more appearance with the Red Sox in September of 2016 before becoming a free agent after that season.

Chad signed with the Chicago Cubs organization prior to the 2017 season and spent that year with their Triple-A affiliate, the Iowa Cubs He became a free agent again after that season but did not sign with another team until June of 2018 when he signed a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays He is currently playing for their Triple-A affiliate,…

Chad Patrick: A Baseball Journey – The Major League Years

Chad Patrick, born in California in 1967, was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the second round of the 1985 amateur draft. He played three years of minor league baseball before making his Major League debut with the Reds in 1988. He played sparingly for Cincinnati over the next two seasons before being traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1990. Patrick became a regular player for the Pirates over the next few years, appearing in over 100 games each season from 1991 to 1994. However, his career was cut short by injuries, and he retired from baseball in 1996.

After his Professional Baseball career ended, Chad Patrick began a new journey. He became a coach and scout for the Tampa Bay Rays and then the Toronto Blue Jays He now runs his own baseball training business, CP Baseball, in Tampa, Florida.

Chad Patrick: A baseball journey – Family and Legacy

Chad Patrick’s life has always been baseball. Growing up, his father coached him and his two brothers. His grandfather was also a coach. When it came time for college, Patrick wanted to play for the University of Kentucky where his father and grandfather both had played. But, he says, “I wasn’t good enough.” So he went to a small school in Texas called Schreiner University where he played all four years and was captain his junior and senior seasons. After college, he was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles and spent three years in their Minor League system before being released. He then played independent ball for a few years before finally hanging up his cleats for good.
